Lester Roloff
A huge truck arrived on main campus and dumped the grapefruit close to the old dining hall. Every student could take all that they wanted and it was FANTASTIC!.
Potatoes?
I might have shared this years ago.....While a married student with young kids, working a full-time job & college full-time, we ran out of funds & food. We were prayed as we eat the last of our food for breakfast. We ended the meal with a prayer for the supernatural God we love to provide somehow.
I went to school with a heavy heart praying for a miracle. During chapel the dean of men announced that someone had driven up the the cafeteria loading dock with 50 lb bags of potatoes & they were there for the taking for anyone who might want them.
Want them........needed them in my case. I cut Church Ed & carried those spuds on my shoulder & loaded them in my car as I sang praise to God all the way home. I walked in my apartment with that big bag & told my wife to find out how many potato dishes she could cook. We ate baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, hash-brown potatoes, potato pancakes & french-fries but we eat....
We have reminded each other many times of how God provided that day & have taken heart & in simple faith trusted in His supernatural power to meet our needs when we could see no way. What is wonderful is that our kids live lives of faith today. We have a daughter living by faith in Africa as a missionary right now. As far as I know she doesn't have a single church supporting her...we marvel at her faith & how God is using her.
