So why the drastic change in beliefs?

Just took one of my boys to BJU orientation this past weekend.  Guess that was a drastic change of beliefs for me seeing as how when I was 18 I thought anyone who attended BJU was little better than a pagan!  Some VP greeted everyone with a SHORT history of the university and stressed how the glory goes to (gasp!!!!) God and how they want BJU to be a spiritual blessing to the students.  Couldn't help but imagine that if I'd been a HAC it would have been a LONG history of the college with a lot of glory and bragging going to men.  Guess I've officially lost my Hacker status!  :D

I have been a HACker long enough to know not to trust any welcoming committee from any institution as the absolute truth of what lies behind the door.

Folks, I'm not into conspiracies, but the more the students talk among themselves, the more likely they are to discover that they are being lied to.

....demanding extremely clean dorms.....

What??  What's the option?  Filth?  Nope, super clean is the only way to go.  It cuts down on disease and illness.

Clearly white glove and filth are the only two options....

That's assuming that the door actually exists...

That is so true.  I just told my daughter, if you get there and after a semester, or a year, you find that there are a lot of things that just don't jive, do not feel guilty leaving.

That would mean that she failed to cut the word "quit" out of her dictionary.  :)

Oh, I failed to include that she was accepted at 4 or so other colleges and recruited by 3 of those to play 2 sports there, and could easily transfer.

None of that means anything if she does not cut the word "quit" out of her dictionary!!

Just for interest sake, what percentage of HAC grads do you think:

Are still faithful to an IFB church?
Are faithful to church though no longer Baptist?
Are no longer in church?

I know we cannot be completely accurate, but based on that group with whom you attended HAC, what do you think?

A little off subject here but for the last two years I attended fbch I was faithful in a ministry and taught SS but rarely went to the church services. I almost never went in the morning and only about half the time at night even though I was there every Sun. morning. I just talked to a man who was in school when I was and we used to be in the same ministry years ago. He still faithfully drives a bus every week but does not go to church services. (he is related to the young girl that schaap.........)

Sounds like you may need to fill out an Activity Report!  :)

My wife and I are devoted IFB's who faithfully attend an Assemblies of God church here in Mexico. We were being blessed in a good independent Baptist church when the pastor left, and a small group of people seized the church and wrecked everything. We started attending a fundamental soul-winning Assemblies of God church, and today  we picked up 27 kids on the "caravan" route for Vacation Bible School.

We're not charismatic, and we have no intention of turning charismatic. We want to do something with our lives, and this is THE soul-winning church in the Gringo Zone. Last week, several of our people conducted a successful VBS in an isolated area of Mexico.

I also volunteer at two Christian orphanages and will be at one of them for five days next week.

Many people do not understand the logic even if you have no other bible-believing church to attend. But many times it is; Do I go here or stay home by myself because I refuse to be a compromiser. I have changed a lot of my thinking in the past several years but it has nothing at all to do with compromise. I have been haunted by the statement someone made that said, "Folks, there is no black heaven and white heaven. There is no pentecostal heaven and baptist heaven. We will all be together in one accord worshipping the Lamb!"  Kind of makes you think; You know?

Do the Assemblies of God in Mexico believe differently than they do here in the US?

Raider, they believe the same thing. American-headquartered religions are banned in Mexico. The Mexican Baptist Convention believes the same thing as the SBC and even has churches in the US. Some of their churches are pastored by Americans who are Southern Baptist. The Mexican Assemblies of God even has US missionaries pastoring some of their churches.

Do you personally pray in a Heavenly prayer language?
