Kind of amusing how much bad theology came out of the 1800s and how pervasive it is in American Christian (i.e. "evangelical") culture.
Indeed. I've become so fed up with that culture that I've decided to leave it... while reaffirming my commitment to Christ and Christianity. My new church is part of the Anglican Communion.
