Dictatorial Preacher Rule - Where It All Began

In my years on the FFF, I used to stagger in disbelief at all of the abuse and dictatorial manipulation testimonials. I came to realize that a lot of it was accurate, like that stuff about Bob Gray of Texas. However, just like Bob Jones VI has already told you, not everybody in the ministry is like those bad examples you've dealt with. I have seen three men lead the church that I assist in, and none of them fit the stereotypes of a money grubber and abuser of the sheep.
And the sad part is, what are believers supposed to do?

Do about what specifically?

If they go to a IFB church that operates as mentioned.
Obviously, there are many who don't think it's dictatorial or 'abusive.' So they can stay.

Those who think it's all a scam can leave.

Very simple. Very easy.

Regarding taxes, there is the ~7.5% for Social Security (FICA); most states have an additional tax on what you spend (sales tax). As far as income tax goes, I started years ago of getting into the habit of computing my "real" income tax rate, which is INCOME_TAX_OWED divided by GROSS_INCOME. That's never been anywhere near 15% for me; it has fluctuated between 8.5% and 10.5%.
What's your secret? Not counting sales tax, taxes were 20.7% of my income in 2024, 21.7% in 2023 (taxes counted were federal, state, local, & property).

I don’t know your background. But in the IFB world the IFB church is the only church you should be a member of. Anything else is not Gods best.

Hence, my question. If a family are members of this said church that operates this way. What should a family do?

Mine was 25%

And my answer is the same.

Or KJVO mania?
That's true too, though I have a soft spot for the non-Ruckman version of KJVo, so long as they don't constantly harp on it, nor incessantly run other folk in the ground who use a different version.

Would you say you're a KJVP?

The short answer is Ekklesian is right. There are decent IFB churches out there who haven't drank the Koolaid on the infallible mannagawd foolishness.
Sooooo, if theres none in your area, move to a different state? 😂

Have you ever heard of thing called prayer?
Ok sooo, pray for God to send a man to start a IFB church in my area? Or pray for God to change the heart of current, Lording over Gods heritage, Pastor??

I guess what you’re saying makes sense. Pray for God to change the heart of current said pastors heart and wait patiently on God to move while me and my family sit through all his topical current event, beat a dead horse sermons. 😂

Did we go to the same church?
And there’re telling us that you can find one that’s not like that. Heres what my experience tells me.

This is what they mean. No, no we’re not like those other IFB pastors, don’t get me wrong there’re out there but we’re not like that. Look our Pastor has a beard.

And that right there in their minds means there’re not like the others.

Not worth the time to post all I want to say. People want all full time workers to be poor.
Not me. I believe a pastor should live at the income level of the town he pastors.

If that’s 30k a year or 60k or 80k whatever the average income level in that town is.
