Ken Schaap and his group starting a church in Cincinnati

First, allow me to state my credentials. I am an extremely disenfranchised former HACer who was able to escape in 1986 just before the unavoidable implosions. I have since fought through the bitterness of wasting 4 years of my life in a pit of hypocrisy and have landed comfortably between funnymentalism and emergent (maybe even an accursed evangelical). To clarify, I am appalled and disgusted by all things fundamental.
Having said all that now let me say I am also appalled and disgusted by your arrogance about Ken Schaap coming to Cincinnati. On what authority do you hold Cincinnati in such disdain? Yes, the urban area has issues like all other urban areas but it is generally a nice, conservative town and has not experience traumas anything lime Detroit.
And, Jonah, if it is so awful then obviously God has written it off and has no interest in people hearing the gospel.
I am disgusted that Schaap is coming but that is no reason to hate on a city!

And there's Skyline Chili and Bill Cunningham. Always loved Cincinnati!

Lets not forget the Reds!

My Reds are currently stinkin' (I love that word) it up!!

If you were a Cubs fan you would be used to that by now!

This is true!  Instead of saying, "Wait until next year!" the Cub fans are now saying, "Wait until 3 years from now!".

I like heading to Cincinnati from time to time.  I usually take in a Reds game once or twice a year.  It's one of the nicest ball stadiums, right there overlooking the river.

I remember the old stadium. Scared me to death though...it was so high and steep!!

Y'all are getting sidetracked! I think we need to pass the hat, raise the money for Kenny's landscaping, and volunteer to go out there and install it for him. Who is in?

But the handprints of Johnny Bench were in the concrete outside the old stadium.

You remember Crosley Field?

:)  Maybe Riverfront Stadium.

I was in the 5th grade when I went to Crosley Field.  It was Patrol Boy Day, which, as a patrol boy (crossing guard), was an unknown perk.  All I remember is that the Reds played the Giants and I remember Willie Mays striking out and throwing down his bat and stomping on it.  Ahh, those were the days.

That top section would give you the sensation of falling forward when you looked down.

Once a group of us idiots went to the top row, and "did the hokey-pokey" with all the spins, on one leg, etc.
There were 12 of us up there.

Couldn't get me to do that again.

Billy Martin was the ultimate temper baby, along with Johnny Mac in tennis.  I never heard this about Mays.
