We're talking about why the Jews insisted on Palestine and not the more hospitable non-desert area they were freely offered as a homeland early in the Zionist movement.

Because the New Covenant replaced the Mosaic Covenant not the Abrahamic Covenant which was an everlasting Covenant. The land belongs to Israel.
