Isn't it telling that in over 5500 views and 267 posts that I cannot remember anyone asking for prayer for the Martin Family.  There son has been taken from them and "christians" are just concerned that the man who did it can go on with life as if nothing has happened.  After the verdict and the Martin Family was robbed of their son again as he was dehumanized and devalued there was no mention of prayer for this family.  No show of compassion.  No show of sympathy.  Only cries for gz to be able to go on with life as if nothing happened.  Why does this family not deserve any compassion, sympathy, or grace.  Jesus taught us that we should even pray for our enemies but it appears that the Martin family will not be afforded that courtesy here.

I find it telling that in over 5500 views and 267 posts that no one has mentioned the genocide occurring Darfur or child soldiers...

Let's turn this around .... what if Travon had killed GZ?  He'd go into the juvenile justice system, age out at 18 and then be let go.  There would be no one coming to the side of the Zimmerman family.  Mr. Zimmerman's life has been ruined because of this.  Doesn't anyone think of that.  Just because he's been found innocent doesn't make his life will go back to normal.  He's had to go into hiding, along with his family.  He's not getting any help from the government or anyone else.  Travon's mother received a large sum of money.  Now the government wants to get involved in a lawsuit.  GZ's life will never be the same no matter what.  There are two sides to every story.  A jury found him innocent, but his life will never be the same.

No one has asked for prayer for the Zimmerman family, either. What's your point, other than to again confirm your own personal biases?

Funny, blacks killing blacks and no one in the black communities gives a ....

I am SO tired of this case. There is other news in the world.

When will the media ever learn to stop beating a major story to death?

It is so tiring. I am on another forum and there are probably 150 threads about it.

I know you're tired of the topic, but this needs to be said about the way the media handles this.

Is it self-defense if you initiate the conflict after being instructed by law enforcement to not initiate contact with the other person?

This action by Zimmerman is called stupidity (IMO).  Stupidity, however, does not mean that Martin is now free to bang his head against the concrete of the street and reach for Zimmerman's gun.  At that point, Zimmerman was more than justified legally to kill Martin in self defense.  If we want to convict Zimmerman of being a moron, then I am all in.  Murder?  Not so much.

His question is based on a false premise, anyway.  Law enforcement did no such thing.  In fact, nobody instructed Zimmerman not to initiate contact.  A 911 operator (who is NOT law enforcement) told him it wasn't necessary to follow Trayvon.  That's all.  And the 911 operator also asked which way Trayvon was going, which would require at least a little bit of following to answer correctly.

So the whole "law enforcement ordered him to stay in his car" meme is nothing but liberal fantasy to make Zimmerman look bad.
