Wow, just wow.....later folks.

I found 31 instances of that topic on the original forum.
Did you complain about it there?

I don't remember those instances, but relativism is not the proper course of addressing the subject.  A straightforward answer on your part would suffice.  If the answer is "yes" then I'll drop it and chalk it up to the liberality of or "lightness" of your moderation.  I expected as much from Ransom, but not you.

So the old forum is our example? Yeah, this will turn out good.

Aren't adults allowed to talk about orgasms and other sexual issues?

You're assuming the people posting are being adults...

Wow, just wow.  Step back a minute and think about the argument here. Seriously?  I mean, really, come on. This is an internet forum. Some people are taking it way  too seriously, investing far too much emotional energy in it, probably getting their sense of personhood here.  That amazes me.

The IRONY of this post amazes me.... :)

Oh, I am impressed.

If you are going to keep referencing the other forum as your guide for this one, you will most likely allow it, and sounds like you will actively participate in those types of conversations.

It's interesting to note that Alayman and qwerty have been at the center of questioning everything that's been done here from the beginning. Ultimately, the admin and moderators are just that. There is really no need to have an endless intellectual battle over how this forum is run. I get the sense that Alayman and qwerty will not be happy until they have equal control.

I personally believe that both FSSL and Ransom are both honest men. They have the ability to separate forum administration from participating in various conversations in the forum. If Alayman or qwerty either one were to become moderators, the forum wouldn't last a week. That is just my opinion. I believe if most people were honest. They would say the same thing.

Keep up the good work guys.

Glad you posted this. I originally thought I might have stepped in a pile of dog stuff and was looking frantically, but was just your brown nose.

Well, since qwerty took my first response, I'll just say that if you think that my objection to locking down a thread were I merely asked what the philosophy for moderating the forum is, well, you're a candidate for Fascists R US.

Thanks christundivided.

Ransom brings a longevity of experience on the original forum and a knowledge of the various personalities. He is a solid thinker and does not get wrankled. So, it made sense for me to bring him in.

If memory serves me correctly, you and I sparred on a thread regarding the self-awareness of scriptural authorship. Was that you?

That was me. :)

It one thing to strongly disagree about a particular subject and its another thing to question someone's integrity. The very fact you'll allowed this open dialogue to continue should prove to everyone that you're honest men.

It's a rare thing you have here on this forum. People should appreciate the fact anyone can basically openly discuss anything and everything. I've literally posted tens of thousands of comments on various forums on the Internet. Most forums wouldn't allow the conversations that take place here to take place on their forum. They have an agenda and anything that goes against that agenda is quickly shutdown. The same can't be said of this forum. The distracters here are just being petty.

Brother.... I didn't question your original question. Yet, look at what this has become. FSSL answered you and has openly discussed the situation with you. I'd say You should appreciate their honesty and integrity.

I've told him several times lately in the numerous discussions regarding webbie's moderation that I appreciate what he's done for various reasons.  But in doing so, I ain't drinking the koolaid.

That said, it is NOT petty to ask that webbie be honest about acknowledging that he allowed Ransom too much heavy-handedness for locking down a thread where moderator privileges were grossly abused just to get a laugh from the peanut gallery.

You don't know anyone's motive. It's ironic that you believe Ransom targeted you. It's your dislike of Ransom that is driving your hatred in retaliation. If you don't like me questioning your motives, then stop questioning other's motives.

His motive doesn't matter in the discussion one bit.  I never broke any forum rule by posting a thread asking for clarification as to the criteria that mods use to lockdown a thread.  What rule did I break, or what rationale would justify the heavy-handed tactic of locking such a thread down?

admin said:
Alayman... you don't have to agree with Ransom. I agree with Ransom. We both believe that you were excessive. It was a judgment call and to debate it is really petty.

In what way was the thread asking for clarification to mod criteria "excessive"?

admin said:
Again... I told you not to bandwaggon the forum for info on Torrent. You continued. I saw this as an attempt to get personal info. You said when you came back that was not the case. Fine. However, I had to react to the information at the time.

Locking a thread is hardly heavy handed.

Now, please return to discussing other things. It is over and I answered your question.

These were my unanswered questions (which had nothing to do with Torrent)...

What forum rule did I break by asking for clarification to criteria for lockdown?

What was "excessive" about that?

admin said:
It was excessive at the time because of your unwillingness to let the subject drop thst evening.

The "subject" in the thread in question was a continuation of an unresolved question that I had asked far before the dispute with Torrent.  I wanted to have clarification so that I might know on what basis threads might be locked down.  I understand (at that time you did it) why you acted in the manner you did, even if I disagree with your actions based on my intent.  I don't understand how your decision at that time to allow Ransom to lock that thread coincides with any reasonable moderation rule, since that thread had broken no rules.  In it I was not mining for personal info, and had broken no forum rule, unless you can show me how it was "excessive <trolling>".

You dont have to agree... just realize this has been over... good night

Well, if we were discussing why the KJV is or isn't the perfect finished word of God for English speaking people you'd demand evidence to support my claims.  I would hope that you'd honor the same level of integrity in the discussion regarding your claim that I broke some forum rule.  Your claim is that my question about criteria for forum moderation was "excessive".  In what way was that excessive?  You are saying that I "wouldn't let it drop" but the reality is that the question I asked had been raised prior to the dispute with Torrent, which proves that the thread was not related directly to the issue which you had locked the other threads down that night.

Goodnight, and I hope you can see that it is not petty to try to determine the rationale for capriciously locking down threads which haven't violated your own rules.
