Our pastor in a pink sweater & white pants.

A backdrop for professional photos with moms.

What am I suppose to be looking at here?
This is the place we met for church.

You mean you are an "assembly of called out ones" not meeting at a church building? Sounds like the way they did it in the first century before Constantine looked favorably on Christians and the government began to control called out assemblies.

After reading your post I was looking for your pastor in the photo.

Yes, the first century Christians met in a building just like this.  :)

On Mother's Day every mother received on of these......

How quaint.

All out moms here in the ward got one of these.

Of course, there are no moms here in the ward.

Monthly ladies meeting at church tonight. Double blessing for my wife tonight.

If the early NT church services were like this Eutychus would have never fallen asleep.  :)

So, you're an independent Baptist ... and you're free to do whatever you want to do at your church.

Praise the Lord! However ....

If you make the choice to:

Turn your platform into a light show;

Get your young people stirred in the flesh with rock music;

Get your old people stirred in the flesh with country western music;

Cancel services every time that some holiday comes along;

Incorporate corrupt Bible perversions into your services and study classes;

Try to be cool and relevant by getting rid of your necktie and pulpit and setting up your sermon environment as a late night talk show ...

Don't be surprised if some of us old-timers who have our eyes opened post on our own Facebook timeline that people who do such things have a big, bad case of STUPID.

You're welcome! And now, back to your regularly scheduled program ...!

(My friends list was getting too crowded anyway ... need to thin it out some.)

Does seem that Pastor O'Neal has missed the point that these folks are God's servants and not O'Neal's servants. Why a pastor would go on Facebook and call another church stupid is beyond me.

I personally like the more traditional service and am more comfortable with it but to decide that anything is stupid seems rather stupid.

And the fact that this pastor ASSUMES to know the heart and the motivation of every worshiper who 'does it wrong' (definition of 'does it wrong' = 'doesn't do it my way')...  He just knows they don't love God like he does, and he just knows he is so much better than they. How very godly of him to say "Raca!" to those other believers.

It would help if you actually read the quote.

If and when you do, you will see he is talking to LEADERSHIP, not those in the pew.

Mike used to be on the FFF..........don't think he could stand it very long. He couldn't see outside of the IFB little box of preferences.

Last Sunday I saw a hard to forget  illustration of turning worry/anxiety into worship instead.

Got it! So, he is the authority and other pastors should follow his model.

Well, duh, he thinks so.

I consider myself a pretty good grillmaster. I've been grilling for many years. I have a very nice grill that I use quite often throughout the year here in the sunny south. Tonight I grilled some beef tenderloins from Omaha Steaks they were two inches thick. My wife & I like our steaks done differently. She likes her's quite rare but I prefer my steaks done well & cooked through & through.  I don't even like a little pink in the middle of the state with mine. We sometimes jokingly give each other a hard time about our preferences. I could never eat the steak the way that she prefers, but that's how she likes her steak and that's how I like my steaks.

How foolish it would be to let our personal preferences hurt or harm or married relationship.

And how foolish it is that Christians, especially Christian leaders let their own preferences hurt & harm their relationships with other believers. They focus their sniper scopes on their brothers backs instead of the real enemy who as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour.

Last December we celebrated our 43rd anniversary & I took her out to one of the best steak restaurants in our area. The steaks were amazing, she chose the Filet Mignon & I chose the 22 oz Cowboy cut steak.  On the menu there was a note from the chief chef that stated that they would not cook their aged steaks more that medium well. So that is how I ordered. I wondered if I could handle my meat that way...................I handled that steak with no problem at all.

Me thinks that we all might have new and thus far unseen horizons that we could enjoy if we would allow ourselves to do so.

OK, now I'm hungry.  FYI,  we don't get steak here in the ward.

Today....

I noticed parents wearing hospital type wrist-bands for picking up their children after church was over.

Another former HACker (not me) who was wearing a baseball cap to church.

Was it the same kind as your preacher was wearing?  HACkers do like to imitate.
