The Worthless Thread for Specifically Increasing Post Numbers

The pollen levels here have been hellacious. I haven't been able to do much in the way of yardwork. Even taking the dogs out to potty is arduous for me. I've used one inhaler in less than four days. UGH!!!

I wonder if that has something to do with me having migraines for like 4 days in a row?

thousands of people visits the uss arizona memorial each year.... but in recent years
more and more of them have viewed it without knowing anything about it.. and some
.. while knowing the history ..do not know what was once below the deck they can see
.. or have an idea of what it might have been like before the attack and when underway...

Fantastic reminder. Thank you.

Fantastic reminder. Thank you.
engineers who study the wreckage say that eventually.... (and they don;t know when exactly).... the hull of the arizona will collapse in on itself.... . the designers of the memorial actually took that into account as no part of the memorial touches or rests on the ship itself.... it;s anchored to the bottom of pearl harbor on it;s own moorings.... .... but what they are worried about is the steady oil leak that has not changed since it began - right after the sinking.... if the hull collapses with a substantial amount of oil still in the wreck it could cause a massive oil slick not seen in the harbor since the days after the initial pearl harbor attack .. ......i don;t know what kind of plans they made.... if any... to deal with that.... for now the huge drops of oil that rise from the wreck to the surface... known as the tears of the arizona.... are allowed to drift past the battle ship missouri - to the mouth of the harbor.. and out to sea.... .

i was there with my sister in 2016.... .great place to visit.... once.... but i would not to live there... or go back again either.... ;)... getting there and back was the longest flights i ever made on a plane... ..had to be drugged into a state of near zombyism to survive it.... but i;m still glad i went and got to see it all....

Where's TWISTED when we need him?
i;m sure who ever he really was is still here .. under a different name.... ...but his sockpuppet ran off when someone came back who really does suffer a mental illness - and who actually lives through the things he mocked and made fun of....

I don't think he ever intended it to be offensive or hurtful. If what you say is true it was very mature and even a little noble of him to discontinue it's use if he thought it might be offensive. Sometimes there is a fine line there, but if anyone would be offended or hurt by it I commend him for removing the persona.

I wish I had a list of all the former users from all 3 versions of the forum. Sometimes I will hear a comment or phrase and I will remember a poster from the past.

i don;t know if he actually intended to be offensive either... ... and i also don;t know the real reason he left... but it wasn;t immediately.... he continued on here until he got the high post total he wanted ...... he and i had several interactions some of which were on this same thread.. .... and none of them were negative - although i did correct some of his wrong depictions of what life in a real mental health hospital was like... ... ..so it could just be a coincidence he signed up right after i left years ago... and then left not long after i came back.... sometimes some things really are a coincidence.... and sometimes they are not.... ...

but either way... .. his dedication to increasing his post numbers on this thread is the reason it;s the longest thread on the fff.... . and i am willing to continue his efforts.... being dedicated myself to seeing that this remains the longest thread of the fff...

My understanding is that there is only one Pearl Harbor survivor left!

I was with the Enterprise Battle Group during WESTPAC 1986. We manned the rails as we pulled into Pearl Harbor and rendered full honors to all of the fallen battleships on Battleship Row culminating with the USS Arizona. Quite a moving experience!

There's one remaining survivor of the USS Arizona. I can't find a precise number of Pearl Harbor survivors in toto that are still alive, but it looks to be somewhere around 30 from what I can infer.

Certainly can't be too many left. Assuming they were 18 on Dec. 7, 1941, they're all centenarians now.
