The Mega-Thread for COVID Evangelists

I'm not offended by your questions in the lh least. My wife and I have both had it twice...the first time was the regular C-19 virus. The first time was in December of 2019. The second time was in August/September. She's recovered quite well from the second time and had very few symptoms. I, on the other hand, have lung damage and possible kidney damage from the delta strain. I still can't breathe. We've had one family member who had the virus who was released from the VA hospital on a Monday and who was readmitted on Wednesday for the coronavirus. He ended up having two heart attacks on that same day...he WAS vaccinated. He passed away after the two heart attacks, and they were reported to VAERS. We've got a niece who was vaccinated and she has gotten the virus twice in Texas. She is a nurse. We've got several friends who have been vaccinated and caught the virus. Out of twelve, five have passed away and seven haven't. But, that's pretty comparable to the friends who we have who haven't been vaccinated and have contracted the virus. Our BIL is in the hospital with the delta strain of the virus, and he's been in there for nearly three weeks now. He wasn't vaccinated, and still has no intention of getting the jab.
Thank you for answering and not taking offense. We may disagree on vaccine effectiveness or politics or even sports teams, but we are a part of the family of Christ. I am truly sorry for your ongoing struggles and for those you 've lost.

Thank you. I may poke people in the sides for fun on here, but I never intentionally mean any ill will to anyone. I appreciate your attitude, as it seems to be pretty close to my own.

Does anyone expect the governors to care one way or the other??? I don't think I know of one of them that isn't out there for anything other than the paycheck! I've got a very cynical view of politicians, and have had this view for many years. I don't think it's going to change now.

Thank you for another entertaining article, Twisted. This should be the standard going forward. We've got the fact that viruses almost don't exist according to the author (except for murderous monkey viruses), there's a linear particle accelerator in the story, and even a tie in to Lee Harvey Oswald. I know you like Lew but this is the kind of conspiracy theory I can get behind.

Some key quotes from the article:
“Bernice Eddy is covered in Dr. Mary’s Monkey as is the murderous effects of monkey viruses. How does that tie in with Lee Harvey Oswald or cancer? What in the world is a Linear Particle Accelerator and what did it have to do with Dr. Mary Sherman’s horrible death and Lee Harvey Oswald?"

"Dr. Lanka proved measles is not a virus but likely a disease. No one – including the CDC has isolated, purified particles samples to scientifically prove these are viruses: SARS-CoV-2, MERS, Influenza, Polio, Measles, HIV, HPV, Ebola, Zika, Hepatitis. Not to say they aren’t diseases but you don’t treat diseases like cancer with a vaccine, so how about those others?Go look at the CDC’s response to the FOIA dated June 7, 2021 re SARS-CoV-2; link above."

"The number of dead after taking those COVID-19 injections is astronomical yet every governor in this country doesn’t seem to have a problem with the carnage."

The only conclusion I can reach is that it’s an Illuminati conspiracy.

I think the title reveals a lot about this video Antibodies are Probably Better than....
The first scientist they spoke with qualifies it with "probably". This does not appear to be a scientist who has researched this issue and his holding sound proof. Sounds more like speculation. Pfizer is a big place with lots of scientists. They may or may not even work on anything COVID related. Having said that it does not seem unreasonable that getting COVID would provide equal or even a little better protection than the vaccine at least for a period of time. This video just isn't the proof of that.

Not pot-stirring or in any way trying to add to confusion or misinformation, genuinely asking this question for serious answers so that I can better understand the public health policy mindset currently being employed in the United States. If the Delta variant is the predominant strain circulating in the United States, and that strain is still transmissible by folks who have gotten the vaccine, then why are young healthy people (particularly children), who rarely suffer any serious consequences from the infection, being urged to get the vaccine?

As a scientist myself, that word "probably" could indeed be the key to interpreting the significance of the whole conversation. Probability, confidence, standard deviations, etc, aren't exactly interesting conversation pieces. The undercover journalist, assuming they are competent at their craft, aren't inordinately biased so much so that they are seeking to elicit a predetermined outcome/narrative, and have a basic understanding of the topic they are researching, should have seized on that "probably" word with more indepth questioning about the "scientist's" understanding of natural immunity versus vaccination immuno-response. The fact that such undercover journalism is lacking in such pointedness leaves me dubious of their editing of the interviewed people's responses. In addition, as the "scientist" revealed that he had signed a non-disclosure agreement but went on to talk about things he knows he shouldn't be discussing (with somebody who he presumably should not divulge such info, a stranger, journalist, etc) is more than a bit dubious.

First of all your trying to ascribe some sort of logic to the things the federal govt does. If I had to guess it would be that Joe knows he got elected because the people perceived that Trump failed at COVID. The last thing Joe wants is to roll around to midterms or even the next presidential election with COVID still being a significant issue. If he can't do anything that reduces COVID to an insignificant issue the next best thing is to show all the things you did to try to fix it. Either that the lizard folk and Lee Harvey Oswald (this one's for you, Twisted) are making him do it.

It may just be an effort to make a show to establish Biden is trying to do something, but the general argument at this point seems to be something along the lines of lessening the viral load, shortening the length of infectious period, etc. The problem with that theory is that there doesn't seem to be solid data yet that verifies those claims, and it seems a bit presumptuous of the CDC et al to make claims for strategy and policy on something other than empirical verifiable solid science when it impacts a demographic that is not significantly detrimentally affected.

It’s pretty clear that the powers that be have used bait and switch to maintain the control they have by using Covid. The other side of the coin is denying the actual existence of a Covid threat and the efficacy of the vaccines. That idiocy is what I have been ridiculing on this thread.
I have on many occasions expressed my opposition to the political double talk used by ‘the science advocates’.

Noted "rino" Lindsey Graham shouted down by anti-vax republicans after asking them to consider getting the Covid vaccine

Agreed, but the political strategy, with all of the reversing direction and selective following of cherry-picked "science" is having the opposite political effect on those (like me) who are somewhere in the middle of the anti-vaxxers and the control-freak-scare-tactic-left. Reasonable people are willing to temporarily surrender some of their freedoms for the sake of the well-being of the general populace in a national emergency, but not for protracted periods of time, especially when "the science" is abused for what appears to be nothing more than pure political control.
