Perhaps not, but that was the civil penalty for heresy in that day. Which Servetus well knew, since he escaped to Geneva from prison in France, where he had been sentenced to death for heresy.

Beer supposedly is an acquired taste, but that’s a euphemism for “this tastes bad but hold your nose and think of it sorta like castor oil, but with the potential side effects of addiction and a pot belly”.

Everything is an acquired taste. We just acquire an affinity for some flavours (beer) later than others (peanut butter).
 
I actually like beer. Certain kinds. And I have no beer belly. Pic in profile...... An old friend who posted one pic ever of himself. I use it everywhere. LOL
