Has anyone heard when Scott Gray is going to Liberty Baptist? He has been at FBC the last few weeks and school is out.

Sunday June 30th will be his first Sunday there.  His father invited me to the first service.....LOL.

You mean they put up with all those years of manusha for 10 bucks an hour?  I don't buy it!

I'm with you on this one. That place didn't/doesn't pay well enough to hold with money. It held staff b/c they bought into 'we are the greatest work of God in America' and they bought into the man leading it. For crying out loud, most of the staff had second jobs anyway. No, they gave their heart/soul to Jack Schaap, and, unfortunately as well, their mind. They swallowed whole cloth the man-centric cult of personality, and then couldn't figure out how to regurgitate it when their stomach started to get a little upset toward the end.

That's it exactly. Hyles programmed them to turn their brains off and hand him the keys. Schaap came along and capitalized on the situation.

There is an element of accuracy to your statements. There were staff members  getting very concerned despite the training they had of loyalty. Several of us posters here have friends on staff and they were getting very troubled over the course of the last year. I know everybody wants to critique them (the staff)  and say they were all no good when you're here you see little things a little differently I'm not excusing anything but I do want to clarify. Here there are staff members who are working there own ministries are not in every service they don't relate daily or even weekly to the main man in charge I know that sounds strange but again this is not your average size church. So there are honest good men who began to hear this in the services they were in and began to get greatly concerned. Sometimes you're in the midst of it and it all begins to be a bit hard to believe. I call that the "Judas factor". As in at the Last Supper when the disciples asked who would betray them Jesus said the one who dips his bread with me. The disciples in the room saw Judas dip the bread but it never occurred to them that he was the betrayer. We read that today and we think how could they not notice? Judas was there with them for the previous 3 1/2 years and served just like they did. So in their minds the obvious just not click. I'm not excusing anything that happened here but I do want to offer at least another maybe point of view. As it got closer in the last 6 or 7 months and the unusual sermons even the good men who were taught loyalty were really questioning many things going on at that point just a little unsure what to do until it all eventually fell apart. Of course at the other end of the spectrum you have those members and staff that sat faithfully in every service and not have a clue that anything was wrong and even got on Facebook defending the sermons. I know I rambled a bit but I did want to offer that. Just some thoughts,...

There are varying levels of culpability. Those that ran intimately with him day-to-day, they should no longer be on staff. Period. The mentality that he fostered in them struck a chord that already existed in their hearts / souls / minds...they are damaged goods and should no longer be on staff. Members, serving the church they love so dearly, yes. Upper level staff members, no.
