Liberty Baptist in Durham is just a HAC-lite church.  He should feel right at home with all the legalism, rules, KJVO nonsense, Ladies Spectatcular, etc.  Durham is pretty much the lower intestine of NC, so it should be a good fit for them both. Should be fun to watch. What do you want to bet the attendance doubles in the first month?  Gray's skewl of accounting. Let the games begin.

I'm not sure the Gray boys are a clone of their dad.  From what I hear, Bob Jr. is doing a good job in Longview, yet you never hear a lot of "number bragging".  The very fact that Scott stayed at HAC/FBCH (who knows why) for so long should tell us he is his own man.

Where were you dozing all the times when Bro. Hyles preached, "Nobody is their own man!"

I went on the website, and lo, and behold, there is pix of Jacklynn Weber speaking to their Ladies Conference.  She has been married ten years, and her kids are in the nursery still, but she is an 'older woman', 'teaching the younger'.  Nothing to do with her name.  Congrats, Scott.  If you are to follow God, your work is cut out for you.

Jacklyn is a fine christian lady and I admire her. But, she has been writing articles in the former christian womanhood on a regular basis and upon reading them, although there is nothing wrong, she needs a little "life experience" to add to some of the substance of what she writes. IMO

Agreed, she seems like a fine lady but a bit young to speak at a lady's seminar. She isn't the only staff daughter to be invited to speak these days that seem young and inexperienced about life. (Still, better her than an equally young and inexperienced person being put as head of the Bible faculty.)It almost seems like some churches will have them to somehow gain clout with FBC. Am I the only one that has ever thought that?

While I have no reason to doubt Jaclynn and the other speakers are nice enough ladies, the real question remains:  In light of what has happened in their church, how do Mrses Webber, Young, etc. have any business speaking anywhere outside their church/family right now?  And who has any business going to listen to them?  Are there not any ladies from churches whose pastor didn't preach vulgarity and near-heresy and commit adultery with a teenager all to the admiration, praise, and condoning of everyone around until it was impossible to ignore?

Are there that few IFB female speakers?  Why wouldn't any of those FBC ladies say something like "Look, we know you had us scheduled and we'd love to be there, but we think that at this time we, our church, your church, and your conference attendees would be better served by our staying close to home and your finding alternative speakers."?  Just seems like the "right" thing to do, and then meanwhile a public yet humble statement like that would probably have far more positive influence "around the country" than whatever goofy thing they "preached" at the conference ... I'm just speculating on that part though.

This is very frustrating that people are still having FBCH/HAC folks speak at their churches and schools.  Personally, they most likely have a genuine desire to serve the Lord, however they stood by (If not wrote letters of support) to a person that perverted the sanctity of the Church.  While he spewed his nonsense twisting and defiling the scriptures, these folks continued to sit in the audience and nodded her head like a bunch of bobble-heads in grandma's Ford Fairlane.  I would have probably given them the benefit of the doubt if this was just over a period of months, but this was years upon years of departure from the scriptures.  Choosing to stay and get paid is supporting whether you verbally stated support or not.

Are these people to be judged forever for this?  No.  But to have them teaching your church members while the ink is still drying on the letters they wrote in support of Schaap is foolish.

Wilkerson should put a moratorium on all outside speaking events, at least until he can clean house (if he ever does).  Then after he fires or forces the retirement of every College administrator, Bible teacher in any school, and every Assistant Pastor and gets the FBCH ministries in order they can start working on mending their relationships with their graduates and like-minded churches.  He is obligated to his parishioners first, then worry about the rest.

I don't know that I have ever agreed with you more!  VERY well put.

Amen & Amen!  It makes no sense to me whatsoever.  Why would anyone send their kids to a place or bring someone in to teach people to stand for the LORD by people who refused to stand for the LORD.  Makes no sense!

I would not ask any one to speak that isn't a seasoned speaker........Ladies at the Sword of the Lord have done this right..

I'm trying to say this as kind as possible but Mrs Webber needs to find another job and take speaking off the list...if she wants to write great but what I understand is Cindy's books aren't even selling...........this should be no shock to anyone.

...at the same time, I have to wonder, if I was in JW's situation, if I thought I just might lose the church whole (in the sense of imploding) if I cleaned house the way I wanted to.
