In all fairness, kaba, they only did that in case you shared a mailbox with a male student.

Hahahahahahaha!

Here are a few excerpts from a Church Ed lecture in 1980 by Johnny Murphey.  The topic was Organizing Your Files.

Dr. Hyles has 20 or so topics upon which he preaches in a year:
Prayer
Assurance
Others
Love
Christian School
Sin
Jesus
Joy of Salvation
Bible
Seperation
Heaven
Hell
Marriage
Dating
Soul Winning
Pride
Home
Attitudes
Work
Wheat and Tares
Youth

Dr. Hyles has twenty or twenty-five Bibles.  He has one for when he preaches at conferences, schools, etc.
Dr. Hyles paper clips his sermons in his Bible

This would be a good segment of "WHERE ARE THEY NOW?"  (Larry Bullard, Glynn Lively, Bruce Johnson, Vic Nishchick, Al Gomez, Elmer Fernandez, Robert Auclair, Johnny Colsten)  Some are still in Hammond----where are the others?

Larry Bullard is in Georgia or South Carolina and I believe he pastors a non-denominational church. My sister and brother-in-law are still good friends with them.

I really liked him, and was glad he filled in , as the outreach ministries director, when "Bro" Dave left.

Average of 700 workers in A, B, C, D Bus ministry.
5100 people ride the buses that wouldn't come to FBCH otherwise.
FBCH averages 18,500 with many more during th espring and fall program.

You just blessed my soul!!

Anyone remember what class we were taught to aim our preaching at the teens?

Things like: "preach on the teens' sins, to get the parents on your side."

Seems like C.E. or Preaching 1.
My notes got soggy in a flood back in  '08, so I am sidelined on this thread.

Here is a thread that could be a lot of fun.  Do any of you still have the notes that you took from classes at HAC?  If you do, please post them.  If you know the teacher, the class name, and the year, that would be great.  You can scan and post, or just enter the notes by hand. We are looking for actual notes that you took while in class, not an "I remember the day when so-and-so said".
*As always, one class and one day of notes per post.  It's all about the numbers, baby!
I just do not have the time.....but C Laurent Bible class notes could go on for many pages, not with Bible notes but with stuff about elections, nut-case standards & writing letters to the editor of newspapers.

And congressmen and senators and he was against blue jeans and restaurants that served liquor. I wonder where he got his groceries?

Drool and slurred writing in my notebook when taking Grady's summer classes (after working all night at the factory)/
It wouldn't matter what he gave, it wasn't what ended up on the test.

And just think:  We paid for that!  With our own money!
