Would First Baptist Dallas be considered IFB, "Independent" & "Fundamental"?

No, not for the purpose of this thread.  We are looking for staff members who no longer attend an IFB church of the same stripe as FBCH.
1st post of thread:
I thought it might be interesting to have a post dedicated to FBCH/HAC staff members that are no longer a part of the IFB movement.  Who would be on that list?

*As always, one name per post.  Remember, it's all about the numbers, baby!!

Now I'm confused....

The thread was more clearly defined a few post later.  Here are the posts:

The "fundamental" part of IFB means very different things to different people.

Do you mean fundamental by HAC standards.

Can you better define what you are looking for in terms of IFB?

Doctrinal positions
Music preferences
Bible version
Dress standards
Ecclesiastical seperation
bus ministry
Hair length

Good question.  Let's go with fundamental by HAC standards.  Let your list be our guide (KJV, soul winning, conservative music, HAC standards, etc)

Hope this clears it up.  We are looking for past staff members of FBCH/HAC the are no longer of the IFB stripe of FBCH.  I should have made it clearer in my OP.  I figured everyone would know the direction the thread was heading.

Well, Fred Mooney left and is doing very well.  The public school he coaches at just won state champions - Marquette.  Way to go Fred.  The rest of his family, besides his mom are also all gone.  They all go to Bethel.

Not familiar with Bethel.

It is my understanding there are more than a few former FBCHammond members now attending Bethel.

I have professional colleagues who attend that church, vibrant Christians. I've even supported one of Bethel's missionaries myself.

Isn't First Baptist Dallas a Southern Baptist church? Wasn't the SBC vilified at FBC?

Don't know about your first question (though the things I saw on the website would lead me to believe they may be SB).  Yes, to your second question.

You stinkin' LIBERAL!!!

Raider you are slow today. The former first lady of FBC attending and teaching at First Baptist Dallas may be the best example of your op.

I love it and I hate to miss. I still can't get used to a lot of the music though.

Speaking of visiting, I was invited by a very sweet lady form FBC to come and visit and meet the new pastor. I wanted to go, but thought of Brother Hyles and the old days and got really down. Sometimes it is best to move on and not look back.

<His wife stayed at my house once when she was part of some HAC tour group.  The folks in our small town (country-style) church weren't all that impressed with her right fancy (and extremely high pitched) rendition of our national anthem. >

Heaven forbid they should ever have to be exposed to the slightest bit of culture, or have the experience of hearing a singer who actually trained the instrument God gave her.

Oh, good night! Relax! I didn't have a problem with her singing, and appreciated it.

We had been in that church for less than a year when we invited them.  We had a very small auditorium and you know, they like to turn their sound systems high.

The people in this church had never heard of HAC or any place like it before - not even BJU or TTU.  Seriously.  It was in a rural community in a southern state.  Our entire county had fewer than 14,000 people.  We drove miles to get to any place like Wal-Mart!

Her singing was not anything like what they had ever heard before unless they happened onto a TV channel with an opera.  We heard about how her singing hurt their ears for weeks later, but at the same time they were kind enough to say she had a nice trained voice.  (Their generous comments are more cultured than some assumptions of them.)

Eric Capaci (Gospel Light Baptist Church & Champion Baptist College)

I can't remember if he was on staff at HAC for a short time or not.

He does have an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Hyles Anderson

With him goes Johnny Pope.

Anishinaabe

Hyles family would be exhibits A, B, C, and D.

Not sure why you wouldn't consider Capeci or Pope IFB, though.  They may not be FBC-IFB, but definitely IFB.

Ok, you explained your snarkiness. Now I will explain mine! Before you expounded upon the situation, your post sounded like a slam on the lady. I was attempting to defend her.

Capaci was a student not a staff member.
