Dr. Hyles' Quote of the Day

"If I called his name, everybody in this room would know him."

Now that's a good one!  :)

"Education is the acquiring of proper knowledge and the wisdom with which to use it."

"There must be nothing worse to God than for one piece of dust to think that he is better than another piece of dust."

Along the same line, "No creature of dust has the right to look down upon another creature of dust."

This is an interesting one.

"God's degree of patience with you when you stumble is determined by how fast you were running when you stumbled."

I think this was taken from the book of Hyles, chapter 3 vs. 15. ;)

If you would complain more about what you are than what you have you would be a better Christian.

"Your chance at a second chance depends on what you did with your first chance."

"Americans spend money they don't have to buy things they don't need to impress people they don't like."

I'd rather spend my life doing the right thing in the wrong place then trying to find the right place and going from place to place.

"The King is coming! The King is coming! The King is coming!"

41 years later, that sermón still drives me on. Why? Because the King is coming!

Maybe I'm over analyzing, and I realize it's not scripture you're quoting but......that statement has no grace or mercy in it.  What happened to the God of second chances?  Some of these like the one on patience and running, I'm not getting.  Maybe I need an interpreter.

Let me know if you get one.

I bet Si Robertson could give an interpretation.

Raider, you're correct  in stating that this quote cannot be clearly backed up by Scripture. But David, Jonah, Peter, and Mark had impressive (though not perfect) records before they fell. Jack probably spotted a spiritual principle.
