Dr. Hyles' Quote of the Day

♫ Buffet your body, every day! ♫
♫ Buffet your body, every day! ♫
♫ If you want to be like Brother Hyles, in every way...♫
♫ You will buffet your body, every day!!! ♫

I've got more brains in that little finger than you've got in your whole head.

Directly after the fall of the USSR:

Well, I have a good sermon series on End Times that I am selling cheap!

The more I learn about prophesy the less I know about prophesy.

The honest truth is...the honest truth is....  I always wondered if there were any other kind of truth than honest?  :)

Standing somewhere in the shadows you'll find Jesus.
He's the one who always cares and understands.
Standing somewhere in the shadows you will find Him,
And you'll know Him by the nail prints in His hands.

"Nobody changes their position.  Change IS a position"

"Do not ask for fears to be removed; ask for courage equal to the fears."

Okay here is one I used to be in full accord with but have serious reservations about now.

"Decide what you believe right now and then don't change".

Was this one Dr. Hyles?  (I always half-way attribute it to him, but can't find any place I recorded it.)

"Don't make a decision when your decision-maker is broken."

Yes.  I think this is a very wise statement.  I have thought of it and applied it a couple of times in my life.

English may very well be the most important subject taught at Hyles-Anderson College.

Funny.  My Freshman English teacher was...(drum roll please).....Jack Schaap.  His first words on the first day of class were:  "I hate English".

The most impressive memory of that class was that Jack would do a vertical leap from the floor to the top of the lectern and start preaching.  It was impressive.  (No, I don't remember anything he taught on English)

I had Cindy Schaap.  It was her first year teaching.  She should not have been teaching English.

Bless her heart.
