Deceit

As long as there are going to be young men (and sometimes young women, too) around - whether it's a Christian atmosphere or not - there's going to be inappropriate practical jokes, and yes, even bullying.

I know that doesn't make it right, but it happens.  I don't excuse what some have said happened.  If true, it's wrong, but those types of things will continue to happen throughout life and in every career and in every ministry to some extent.

All one can do is grow up and continue to deal with it.  "Life ain't for wimps."

Vince, why would you then, after that, have gone to work for Vineyard at OBC?

Believe it or not, Just Me, I got reconciled to Jim. God clearly told me that Jim was going to ask me to work for him, and he did. And hang onto your seatbelts, Folks. I quit on Vineyard on good terms, and he gave me a recommendation.

So, Vince, who were the students that made the Who's Who list?

There were no gangs at HAC when I was there in 82-86. And those that got on Whos Who each year while I was there was for academics reasons-not the biggest bus route.

I am no longer a fan for HAC! But I am also no fan to made up stories or "stretched" stories.

My husband worked on security and never talked about gangs on campus. again post the names..

Before the college opened, Al Waddel, who had pastored a small Calvinist church, was a bus mechanic at FBCH. He told me personally that Jim Vineyard grabbed him by the throat and threw him against a wall for refusing to let an unsafe bus go out on the road. Waddel stormed over to Hyles and told him he would not go back to Vineyard, so Jack asked him to be a college teacher.

Nobody saw the need to go to the pólice, but Jim's action did constitute violent crime.

Wasn't this Al Waddell the former HAC Bible teacher? Didn't he (according to an eyewitness who told me) pull an unloaded gun on a student in his class?

Maybe there was a real reason he didn't want cops involved at all...

By letting the gang members off and blaming the victim, Jim unleashed several months of gang violence onto the students who worked at UPS. Now, Folks, I'm giving my real name. and stating where I was when I observed these events. We have two eyewitnesses on this thread that the gang violence never occurred. Would those two eyewitnesses give their real names, where they worked at UPS when they observed that these events did not occur, what their relationship was with Jim Vineyard, and what awards they received that had been earned by other students?

Chris Bonesteel, who was on staff for several years at HAC, has written into the Do Right forums that the Roadway Gang incidents did occur. Dan Taylor and Cliff Falen, who both had large bus routes, have written in to other FFF forums that the Vineyard's Gangsters had occurred. All of these eyewtriness have given their real names and have stated where they were when they observed these events.

Smellin, do you know the student who Waddell pulled the gun on?  It was your former HBJHS history teacher!  Couldn't happened to a more deserving individual.

"Reconciled to Jim"???  In my opinion, from knowing Jim VIneyard for many years, that means you kissed his butt and he let you think you were in his good graces.  As long as you continued to kiss his ring you were fine and thus he hired you later on when he was in charge of WHBC/OBC.  He knew he had you under his thumb.  Your "quitting on Vineyard on good terms" and getting a recommendation just confirms that in my opinion.  He allowed you to move forward.

Next time you need to think, I'll be there for you as well.  Baby steps, my friend.

You are recalling the things that got JV fired and helped him hear God calling him away from Hammond.

(sigh) JustMe, I'm going to have to give you a 9.5 out of a possible 10.

I will say this, you are clearly Vineyard trained Mr. Massi.

This one gets you a 9 out of a possible 10. But I am also Billy Graham trained, John R. Rice trained, Jack Hyles trained,  Joe Combs trained (groan), and Bill Gothard trained.

That may be true of all those other men but, unfortunately, you chose to shine forth with the Vineyard training.  And that, sadly, gives you a 0 out of 10
...Bill Gothard trained.
Uugh.

Did I miss something because Vince has been a gentleman  how is he a vineyard follower
