Dave Baker Muslims unite with Baptists

Tonight I am officially leaving this forum.  I posted a response from a picture that I saw.  It rubbed me the wrong way and I responded.  The Holy Spirit convicted me about this and I respond to His leading. Dave Baker is my friend and I although I cannot agree with all he has done or said.  I cannot let that control me.  I am sorry for the time this has wasted in my life and others. We should have never entered in this conversation. My apologies to all.  Others may choose to respond I will walk away.  Pastor Baker is in my prayers I am sorry for the stir this has seemed to cause on this sight. We all can make knee jerk responses. God has taught me from this. I pray the best for him and his family.  I give Him credit for rearing a godly family.  Best wishes and farewell.

You have indeed caused a huge stir so much that I haven't seen since...........well, since.......well, I've never seen anything like this on the FFF.

I was contemplating removing myself as well, but you are leaving so I will stay.

Amen Bruhski!

Just today I saw another Dave Baker post with vitriolic accusatory verbage in a reply on one of my facebook friends posts, reminding  me again why I unfriended him. Oh I didn't announce to him I unfriended him.

I quote from "David Baker says, John. This is why I unfriended you and will not friend you back. I tried to reason and logic with you to no avail. You are trying to destroy a good man and I don't have time to argue with people like that."

He is constantly unfriending people with whom he does not agree, and announcing it publicly.  ...unbelievable!

...but I still am very curious if he was promised one of the leading parts in that Gravity Entertainment Hollywood movie scam. Seems like it would be right down his alley.

So the question remains.

Were those people who put up money ever made whole or did they lose all or most of their investments?

Anyone know?

Filing a chapter 11 reorganization with court supervision is not a bad thing at all, in fact it is the responsible thing to do.

The big question is did they successfully emerge from chapter 11 and make the creditors whole?

It would seem that they converted the chapter 11 into a complete liquidation leaving many completely empty-handed.

So is this a concise statement of what happened?

Quote,

"Pastor David Baker and his connection to Ponzi Schemers Freddie Marshall Carson also known as Marshall Carson and Steven Gagnon. He owns a church in Columbia, TN and made 10 of his members co-sign a $750,000 loan with Charter Bank and the money is gone. The IRS has tax liens on this Hyles-Anderson College creation and the Assistant Pastor just lost him home to foreclosure."

So has RA become his sugar daddy?

Well this is interesting and currently on file at the Secretary of State of Tennessee web site.
There is a whole lot more but this should peak ones curiosity.

This not for profit is still a viable corp in Tennessee and appears to still be doing business and keeping it's reports current.
This proves that Lighthouse Baptist Church of Columbia has not been dissolved. Hummmm...?

Church is dissolved and he is now pastoring "Family Baptist Church."  Tonight we find the picture posted last night on Facebook has disappeared.  I guess the picture did not go over so well! He should be happy tonight Cruz won.

Lurker has asserted that the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Columbia Tennessee is dissolved, this is patently false.

There is irrefutable proof on the Secretary of State of  Tennessee's web site that Lighthouse Baptist Church of Columbia Tennessee is a functioning, viable Tennessee not for profit corporation in good standing today Feb 4, 2016, next annual report is not due until March 2016.

So what is going on here?

Let's see what we get for Family Baptist Church. This sure sounds like a house church.

According to the Secretary of State of Tennessee's web site we have the following.

Lookee here another not for profit run by David Mark Baker, how about that?
He has two not for profits, imagine what one could do with two viable not for profits, one can only dream.
What does this mean?

What is David Mark Baker doing?

It is a curious thing that in the Lighthouse Baptist filing he is Pastor David Baker while in this one he is David Mark Baker, nothing is said about him being a pastor.

Where is the record of liquidation and disillusion?

Still looking.

Does anyone know why his Bio on the online college says Dave started Lighthouse Baptist in 1993?

link

http://www.ibaptistcollege.org/faculty/dr-david-baker/

SOS web site says Initial Filing Date: 11/04/1974, that's a bit before 1993.

How could he start a church in 1993 when the entity was created in 1974?

This just keeps getting more and more interesting the more digging I do.

Anyone have any info on what is going on?

I have no more information than I have already shared, but this is really interesting.  I would assume that he liquidated all assets as part of the bankruptcy.  I did not know that he had sunk the church funds into a ponzi scheme.  I knew that he had all these marvelous ideas and that he convinced quite a few people to put up the money for his marvelous ideas and that it all came crashing down - due mainly in part to his failure as a pastor to pastor a community.  He never figured out that you can't pastor a small town the same way you run a college bus route.

I would assume that his claim to have started Lighthouse is just a bold faced lie.  Several in the IFB commit this sin.  They become pastor of a small church, lead it to grow a little and suddenly they are the founding pastor.  It seems that the church was once Emmanuel Lighthouse, but became known as Lighthouse.  So, maybe he called that starting a church.  More than likely, his divisiveness split the church, so he is the founder of the remaining church.

That sounds quite reasonable.

At least he isn't moving up in the world -- his old address has a taxable value of $139,600; his new address has a taxable value of $84,800.

Maybe Lurker can fill us in on the missing info, sure are a lot of questions with no adequate answers.

Perhaps if he would just do a nice little history that people could read where he would including the answers and backup, then he could put this whole mess behind him.

It's all about coming clean with the truth, this kind of thing can never be successfully covered up, there are always records.

We have seen this very type of financial fraud up close and personal. (TK)  Many people had their lives destroyed and their retirement stolen, never to be restored. One man I'm thinking of died shortly after finding out his whole retirement fund had been wiped out with TK's ponzi scheme. Many others that I know personally lost large sums to TK and his used car scheme.

It is incumbent on those that know about these schemes to warn others so that they may rather avoid them, instead of being sucked in by some religious sounding charlatan using God's work as his cover to operate with impunity and do his dirty deeds.

Those of us familiar with FBCH know this all to well and can name and have known personally many of these guys over the years.

It is particularly damaging when the scheme is promoted and exploited by the one who is to be shepherding the sheep, but is instead preying on them as a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Hiding behind the Bible for monetary gain or immoral advantage is so evil.

It is the job of all Christians to cry out against it and make it know to others so they do not become ensnared in the wiles of the devil.

I am going to add Dave to my prayer list. Having 11 children is very commendable and a good start on a house church, that would be 13 members with him and his wife.

I believe he probably was beguiled by the fast talking Hollywood types and did not realize what was happening. They gave him a plausible way out of his financial mess and he jumped at it. Someone before said he was not a bad guy and I would tend to agree.

From reading the chapter 11 filing it sure didn't sound like he was enriching himself rather his financial condition was extremely grave.

So Lurker it is up to you, you started this, please fill in the blanks. Inquiring minds want to know, now.
