Dave Baker Muslims unite with Baptists

I like your wording "He in turn has explained some of this back to me."  Enlighten us if you would.  By the way I have spent quite a bit of time with Pastor Baker over the years.  I was in the church for a time!  I have no reason to be against him. I do not like his hypocrisy or arrogance in which he has always referred to as "confidence"  Lighthouse Baptist was a great church for many years but something happened more than financial reversal. just saying. I think he should be as public about the financial woes of lighthouse and his relationship with Marshall Carson, whom he frequently talked to and admired his opinion, as he was about exposing Schaap and HAC. There is a large wake of ruined lives from the latter years of Lighthouse.  I saw it first hand.

I didn't ask him about every detail, I don't have time.
I basically told him what was going on here on the forum, not accusing nor excusing.
But your accusation about the Muslim thing is way off base for sure.
That Muslim was someone who used to come to his church years ago and had since converted to Islam.
Not long ago, the man came to Dave's church  and Dave was trying to teach him about the heresies of Islam.  He had his picture taken with the man.  He's not trying to cozy up to Muslims.
Now, I don't like contention, but if you can't seem to get the facts right about something as simple as that, why should I think that your other accusations are well founded?

Guess that would be your basic house church.

BG from what I see he is the pastor of a church and they seem to have their own building. Once again, this is a good guy but I am very leery of anyone who seems to love jh and bg so much.

You would have to define "nice guy."  He does have a nice personality.  He does have a family that presents itself well.  He does have a huge desire to do what he believes is right.  He has an overwhelming sense of loyalty to people.

He has also displayed an ability to have a vision much larger than his ability.  His charisma has been utilized to bring many people into financial ruin.  His vigor for what he believes is right causes him to launch attacks on anything that does not line up with his views, which has destroyed him in his local area.  Supposedly, he has a very high IQ (or so he states), but he doesn't have much common sense.  He is always looking for an angle.  Again, his inability to follow through on his visions has brought the financial ruin of many.  They might not consider him to be a "nice guy."

Then how did fbch pass this guy up? :)

One of the first considerations we had when we started our search for a pastor was a man who was not full of himself and did not see himself as the only last best hope for America.  At least we had learned that a proud egotistical, arrogant pastor was not a good thing.

But that might make him a PERFECT candidate for college President!  C'mon, is he on the short list?  You can tell us.  We won't spread the secret!

16KJV11,  There were many people whose finances were destroyed through Lighthouse.  Visions were huge, but how to perform those visions....  Many people saw the destruction as simply a bad investment, or a dream that did not work out.  The friends I have who were hurt there, have chosen to just move on.  Many of us have had efforts in ministry bring us financial hardships.  Some felt that the pastor intentionally led them into such a place of demise.  Others felt that the pastor sold them snake oil and rainbow-filled pipe dreams.

It seemed that DB was losing his church and decided to seek relevance by spending most of his efforts on the destruction of JS.  This surely didn't sit well with those who were losing their personal finances, retirements and other ministries.  Personally, I can't imagine the audacity of someone going on a cruise right after filing a bankruptcy which destroyed the lives of so many.  Again, he may have a high IQ, but lacks common sense.

Now the guy is a "Bible college Professor."  Sure.  Because he accomplished......what?

If we learned anything at FBCH over the last few decades it's that, the big talking aggressive Man-O-God type person was not what we as a church needed. We needed Jesus as our hero not some MOG that  blows-up a church and steals our worship from the LORD.

Been there, done that, twice.

Files bankruptcy goes on a cruise and is accused of having no common sense and a high I.Q.

How about, manipulative, dishonest, and knows exactly what he did.

His ego is just as big as Schaap's.  Hence, they found themselves on alternating sides of debates.

Made me laugh here Binacha but it is true. Two fat kids in a tub arguing about whose battleship is better.

He accomplished agreeing with BG, Sr about the evils of JS, and the belief that God wrote the KJV.

Google search Dave Baker Columbia Tennessee. You should find some sufficient info-  Google the name Marshall Carson another Longview horror story.  Should have enough to satisfy your interest.

I had no idea DH was buzzing around Baker, no wonder he has so many problems.

I believe that is Jim Crall in the middle and Dave on the right, they got the pics mixed up.
There was nowhere to go but down after being the greatest in the world while you were still in high school.

He teaches intro to the King James Bible, I wonder what he uses for a text book to explain the history of the translation?

He even has G. A. Riplinger as his side-kick.

Quote.
"Introduction to the King James Bible is designed to give you the foundation of why the King James Bible is the Word of God for English speaking people.  You will learn how the KJB is inspired, preserved, and perfect (without error).  This course will deal with the ?only originals are inspired? heresy, and also show you the correct way to find the definition of Bible words without using a corrupt Greek lexicon.  You will also be given a short history of our English Bible and learn why all the new versions cannot be trusted."

All propaganda.

Is this a fair representation of what went on?

This is so reminiscent of what has gone on in IFB circles for years, one financial scam after another.

Quote
"Marshall Carson (Also known as Freddie Carson, Freddie Marshall Carson, and Freddie M. Carson or Marshall F. Carson) goes state to state to several churches and gets involved with the pastor to get the people who are members of the church to invest with Gagnon and/or his companies such as Masterworks Media. Of course the victims never get their money. Marshall is that good of an affinity scammer that one of his victims who is a builder lets Marshall stay in a million dollar house for free! Nobody from the churches have ever received their money back (which is in the millions) and Marshall tells them Christians don't sue Christians so they don't go after him."

Tonight I am officially leaving this forum.  I posted a response from a picture that I saw.  It rubbed me the wrong way and I responded.  The Holy Spirit convicted me about this and I respond to His leading. Dave Baker is my friend and I although I cannot agree with all he has done or said.  I cannot let that control me.  I am sorry for the time this has wasted in my life and others. We should have never entered in this conversation. My apologies to all.  Others may choose to respond I will walk away.  Pastor Baker is in my prayers I am sorry for the stir this has seemed to cause on this sight. We all can make knee jerk responses. God has taught me from this. I pray the best for him and his family.  I give Him credit for rearing a godly family.  Best wishes and farewell.

So you start a thread saying that David Baker needs to be exposed, so when that happens you take offense?  Weird.

So what I'd like to know, was Dave promised a leading roll in the Hollywood movie?

Seriously!?!  This is your conviction!?!  You point out a fraud needs to be exposed as a fraud.  Once the conversation starts, you quit and go home?  Let me guess, Dave figured out who you are and approached you.  He berated you and made you feel bad.  Now you need to stop for the sake of his ministry.  Am I right?

This site has the ability to point out those who are frauds, performing as pastors.  We are trying to purge out the junk from the church.  Whatever fallout Dave has had, it isn't your fault for being a whistle-blower, it is his fault for committing the sin.  By the way, DB is no new topic here.  Many know of his issues.  He has worked very hard to put himself in the spotlight by his attacks on JS over the version issue.  He brought it upon himself.

Wow, I'm the only one who half way defended Dave Baker, and I simply only want the truth, not unfounded accusations, and when he began with the Muslim business, the rest was suspect in my mind.
Most everyone else sided with with him, I was the only one who cast aspersion on the accusation, and he quits.
Sheesh...
