Cindy filed for divorce?

There was one hilarious (at least, in my opinion) thing that transpired as we honored Todd & Jaclyn Weber and then Mrs. Schaap....I had been privately agonizing over what to do when the inevitable standing ovation arrived...

It really peeved me that in the morning service, when a senior saint was recognized for having taught SS faithfully for 65 years, we did not give her a standing ovation...yet I knew we'd be on our feet for the Webers and Mrs. Schaap...and I really did not want to but I also did not want to make myself an issue by blatantly not participating...

WELL, the standing o's are always initiated by one particularly brainwashed automaton who sits right on the front row. But, we honored these people AFTER the invitation, so Mr. Gung-Ho Standing O had lost his front row seat during the invitation and was now seated on our row off to the side. So, when he (right on cue) stood to give the Webers their standing o....no one followed suit! He was forced to sit down after being the only one standing. A few minutes later, exactly the same happened when he tried to initiate the standing o for CS.

Sorry, I took great glee in that.

....it does seem there are more people like us than there used to be...

We need a secret handshake... That way, during handshaking time, we can identify one another!

I agree, it would be nice to put faces to names and it would make some of these posts funnier in a way. Some of us on the forums have met. Raider caught me falling asleep during the KJV summit a few years back after I worked all night,... Yeah that was a bit embarrassing.

I was in the hall when the presentations were made. I didn't really pay attention to Jaclynn's statement that she read. Did TW say anything, because it wouldn't be worth much credibility I don't think. I did listen to Mrs Schaap's letter.

Too funny about the automaton.  :D

Todd, bless his heart, was awkward. He could hardly read his remarks, really was fighting his tears the whole time. It was the kind of thing that would choke you up if you loved him, and would leave you a little uncomfortable if you were not too involved with him. Thankful for his legacy, his God, his opportunities, his wife, his future, his kids, the teens...not necessarily in that order. It was fine, then Jaclynn blew us all away with a beautiful goodbye letter and then Cindy's statement was read and it left me cold. More power to her, when she sells the house she'll be set for life and will never have had to work for anything, ever.

qwerty do we know if her assets are still froze? I just don't see Cindy having a problem finding money...mom,millionaire father in law... did I leave anyone out?  My friend was let go he had a heart attack I'm sure they took an offering up for him.......

If I had to venture a guess, there is probably instruction in the current Civil action through Will County, Illinois that would prohibit the sale or transfer of any real property until that matter is concluded.  It is pretty common practice in cases like this (more often in divorce proceedings to prevent one of the parties from selling off marital assets), but any attorney worth his salt would try and keep Cindy from attempting to sell the house and leaving town with the money.

I have heard all kinds of things about the financial situation of the Dyer house as to who the actual title holder is currently.  Tax records indicate that it is still their property jointly, so pending something different, I am going to assume that it is their residence; but I have heard that the church may have some financial stake in it.  The assessed value is only $270,000 which is below what the listing price would be (Webbers house went for $259,000 and is assessed at $236,5000).  It would be a nice chunk of change to have, but depending on what the Civil courts decide, it may be but a vapor.

I think Cindy will do just fine. Her father owned half of Hammond.

Well, so glad my husband gave a measurable amount of his net worth in the special offering for the Webers last night as we struggle to maintain and pay for our much less valuable house. We're in the wrong business. Guess God's business really is the greatest business in all the world.

Thank you qwerty I'm on my phone which I really hate. I can't wait to look at a computer screen.

Well we know that the church doesn't have a financial stake in the house. The members on here would know about it if they did! ::)

I'll bet Eddie has a pretty good idea

Does anyone think Cindy knew what was going on? Didn't she turn some pics to staff or deacons....when she found them... I don't think she turned a blind eye or did she... the destruction that caused will never go away

So far, from what I gather on this thread, it appears she is going to "stand by her man" like her mother did.

In truth, all that any of us deserve is hell.  Why are you so concerned with First Baptist's money?

Bottom line is that it is not about Cindy's needs, but FBCH.

I heard this as well, that it was Cindy that turned in the photos..... I also heard that he took the phones to someone in IT there and they turned him in... an of course the famous what we know to be a lie now "He left the phone on the pulpit and someone saw the pics when it went off for a received text".

Money represents a lot of things. Priorities, loyalties.

In this case they still have misplaced loyalty toward that dysfunctional family that has willfully brought them much harm.

Drove by the Schaap house and Weber house today. Both are empty as my bank account. Very sad. I did work on Schaap's house when they put on an addition about 6 years ago. Jack had a lot of nice guns! Wonder what happened to them?

Weber house sold, Cindy's house has had a couple who's looked at the house twice.  Waiting for an offer.  It's not officially on the market yet, I think they don't really want to officially advertise, but do a private real estate advertisement.  Cindy has been licensed as a family counselor (no comment) and she will be getting a job once settled in NC.  The kids gave her one year to decide what to do.  One year went by and she said so long Jack.  She's not looking back.  Kenny is going to be at the college for one semester and then leaving for Cincinnati to start a church.

So, does the "So long, Jack" mean she is divorcing him?

"Kids gave her a year", she still isnt able to make decisions on her own?

I've never been certain she ever has.

I appreciate all she has seemingly accomplished.  I admire her to a degree.  She's been in a pretty hard position her entire life - one I would not like to be in.

But, she has never seemed to be a real "thinking" person to me.
