Chris Teft is no longer there. He is doing missionary work now.

Sound kind of like they are starting to implode.

Chris Teft is talented and will have no problem going into something

Just because a guy learns to preach a little doesn't mean he is cut out to pastor. College students liked to have him preach in chapel but that is a different world.

Todd has been shuffled around in various positions around fbch and hasn't been real good at any of them. I really can't understand how anybody would put him in charge of their Christian school. I'm afraid he will be in for a rude awakening.

I have not heard about Christ Tefft leaving at all, as of a month ago I heard he was staying.

KS,... Balaam, have you heard him preach? I have twice. It was disappointing. I hate to kick a guy when he is struggling but I would turn around and walk out if he got up to speak again.

Todd,... I called him about getting my kids registered for YC but apparently the Jr High YP was too busy to return a call,... Even weeks later. Disappointing.

From all I have heard, this is TW at his best.

I have never personally heard ks preach. Only on the hac website and the fbch website or fb page.  The hype will soon be over and he will have to make it as all other nondescript preachers have done since the New Testament. And again, I wish him nothing but the best. He has had to face some things that most of us never will have to face.

Does anyone know where in the Cincy area KS might be going? It will be hard for him to make a fresh start, difficult to escape the stigma. The IFB circles can be unforgiving. Tough draw to have been born in the shadow of JH and JS. Hopefully he can be his own man. Long, hard battle, though.

Does he have work skills to feed his family... its tough out there unless he has a church ....and that area was hit hard...

I don't know KS well but he is very well liked & respected by the college guys I talk to.  They seem to like him & his preaching.

I think it better prepares the younger generation of preachers, if they are out from under the protection of their family a while before they try to pastor. Young men work for their father or father in laws, then expect to move into a pastor slot with out ever managing or building anything.

I think Scott Grey moving to Middle Tennessee, then Hammond, better prepared him to be a pastor then if he had stayed at Longview. It's hard to get the mentoring you need if daddy is protecting you all the time. No supervisor is going to push you & correct you like you need when your dad is the CEO. 8)

Todd is somewhat of an airhead, but the kids like him.  He moved up in the ranks because of FIL.  I tried to talk to him about my child once and it was like the "deer in the head light look" with no response, just a smile.  My husband and I looked at each other and had a good laugh.  Hopefully once he gets away from the pressure at FBC he can become his own man running his own home.  It's hard living across the street from your FIL.  Wishing Cindy would find her own way and not follow the children, but I guess that is her only link holding her up.  Very very sad!  Oh, and Brian Hasse isn't much better, either!

Cincinnati can be a tough area, too.

I hope KS don't move... I do like his preaching and he is a great guy... I'm just starting to get to know him.

Really? You like his preaching?

I heard KS once and once was enough.  I didn't enjoy his preaching.  I hope that if and when he does leave he can get a fresh start, I wish he and Candice well.  I just hope that the damage his dad has done to him doesn't hurt his testimony and ministry.  He doesn't deserve that.

The only time I ever heard him speak was during the KJV Summit.  If I had to sum up what I perceived in 2 words I would say - prideful and arrogant.  My evaluation may be way off.

I always found it eye-rollingly ironic that JS used to brag about how great KS's accomplishments were...as if he ever would have been appointed vice-pres of HAC were it not for his dad. I would also listen to the stories of JS growing up under his Dad's hard work ethic (sounded like a chain gang type of work regimen that seemed to get worse and more intense every time the stories were retold), where JS was obviously trying to extol the virtues of non-stop backbreaking intense physical labor and using himself as an example of how successful that treatment was. Yet, he handed his son everything on a silver platter and made him work for nothing. Yes I have heard KS preach. I would say...it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be...but if I knew ahead of time I was going to have to hear him again, I'd find a way to avoid it. His little radio show with JL (Preacher and Professor) was REALLY hard to stomach...

I guess there are still bad feelings lurking under the surface, although I've never so much as spoken to the guy. It just bugs me that I used to believe God annointed certain people to be pastors, teachers, leaders, etc. Then, I found out it is no different from the "real" world, where it is simply all about who you know, what your name is, and cronyism. Sometimes I think FBC is a patriarchal institution of cronyism and our dear Lord has naught to do with it.

There really are glimmers of hope and change with the new pastor. He really seems to play no games. There are, however, a lot of "playahs" still around.

IMHO

God never intended for pastors to be anointed.

Every place in the NT where we see the qualifications for pastors listed, they were selected much like you would an employee.

Timothy and Titus selected men to be pastors.

Can anyone find a NT pastor that was anointed?

Remember, David was anointed.  :)  Just kidding!

Two things,... I was there for his Christmas Message, 30 minutes into he mention Joseph and Mary to which I nudged my wife and said, "Hey Joseph and Mary made it into the Christmas message." It was more about their trip to Jerusalem and how FBC was like Jerusalem, where God had done and will continue to do great things,..? Merry Christmas?

He doesn't deserve that bad rap from his dad, but conversely didn't deserve all the good stuff his dad gave him, like the VP position.

But I also believe that if someone preached a hot message that the moon was made of green cheese, the altar would be filled.

I think this has been the bane of the IFB "Movement" for a long time now. We have elevated delivery far above content, and seek only to have our emotions stirred rather than our lives changed.

So...did Jesus ever make it into the Christmas message?

Its not just an IFB problem.

I agree. It is the same problem that the followers of Joel Osteen & Bennie Hinn have.
