I’m hearing a lot of stories about Colleges, Universities, employers & even the military not accepting unaccredited Christian High school diplomas for admission or employment.

Are these stories anecdotal or is this becoming a common problem.

Any firsthand experience regarding these problems?

My last two employers required a 4-year college degree. The accreditation of the college didn't matter. Several years ago while going through a time of unemployment, I investigated going to community college to work on getting a degree in public education to be a public school teacher. Even though it was a community college, it would not accept a single class from HAC.

To my knowledge, having a non-accredited degree has not hindered me from a specific job opportunity simply because HAC is not accredited. This has been my experience though some might have had a different result.
Well, once they saw that your major was Marriage and Motherhood, it was all over! :P

LOL! You might have a point there! But hey! Nobody can apply a Band-Aid like I can!

I'm more concerned about you and the weightier matters of life.  How are you at slicing bananas?

I lost a chance at a job with the State of TN because HAC was not accredited.

Because of that, I completed the "Success Program" (accelerated for adults) at Bethel College in McKenzie, TN and got an accredited BS.  They required 6 hours of theology, and would not accept HAC transfer credits.  I had a degree in Theology and still had to take OT and NT survey  :P

I still put HAC on my resume, but list my major as "Theological Studies."

BTW - I utilize my accredited degree as an HR Manager and my HAC degree as a pastor.

I'm more concerned about the un-accredited high school diploma than HAC degrees.

I've spoke to several recruiters & they confirmed the tier 2 issue for all applicants with unaccredited HS diploma's.

Several colleges in this area have the same attitude regarding unaccredited HS diploma's

The person I spoke with also mentioned the need for an accredited HS diploma for most government jobs.

It appears this is a very new problem HS graduates are facing. I also did confirm a tier to applicant will needs some impressive test scores to get in.

I'm looking for first hand experiences of recent HS graduates.

Are you talking about for military recruitment?  Just curious since I can think of about two dozen HB grads that went into the service.

We just dealt with this issue. The military told us they have worked with HB for so long that it isn't an issue. However a kid coming from an unknown unaccredited school would likely have to take his GED. That is really unfortunate. Parents pay good money to find out the school diploma isn't worth much.

I just did a quick search using your name. Based on the search settings, you've mentioned Hyles 123 times on here and Jesus 40.

Wonder what my point is.

Based on that criteria you must be a Schaap worshiper sense you have mentioned him 390+ times.

Research fail.

A search shows his name in my posts 19 times. Of those, 4 are a direct mention and 15 are quotes (by others) in thread. Jesus shows up 323 times.

You are correct. I was at fault The advance search kept the user name at times when I went back or refreshed yet other times it did not.

Anyway as Raider mentioned (and you did in your reply) context is also important. If a thread is about Hyles books then duh their will be a lot of mentions of Hyles.

P.S. - just from browsing there were many mentions of Grandma Hyles, Dave Hyles, Hyles Anderson college grouped in the search.

You are WAY to logical.
