If your candidate does not win, what are your plans?

I hope no one ever storms the Capitol again. Our country can survive many things, but fights and factions from within may be how democracy gets a little dimmer.

So if the candidate I really want to win loses, I'll probably benefit financially. So if my guy loses I'll still get a small consolation prize plus the right to complain for the next four years.

i don;t plan to do anything... other than just continue on with what i;m doing now.... ...

but just like you hope no-one storms the capital if your candidate is awarded the election ..... i hope no one carries on 4 years of riots... burning... looting... and murdering people in their path ... if mine wins........ ....and i certainly hope we don;t have a high ranking politician praise those rioters.... tell both them and the nation that they should continue those riots.... and then bail the rioters out of jail when they get arrested... .. like your candidate for president kamala harris did in 2020 when questioned about it by reporters.....

of course nothing will stop people like hilary clinton or the crew of the view continuing to claim donald trump is an asset of russia and and unfit to be president whether or not he wins - like they started doing in late 2016 and have not ceased to do for every day since.......

but my question is what will you do if your candidate wins....as a marxist kamala harris will do all she can to promote communism and socialist ideology... and force it into every part of american life........ already living in one of the bluest states of all - not much will change for me...... but your life could radically change if you live in a state where democrats and leftist policies don;t already rule ...have you ever actually lived under authoritarian socialism?... . how will you handle it i wonder?

God will still be in charge. I don't plan on doing anything special either way. I will be happy to see the campaign signs cleaned up.
we don;t have campaign signs in hawaii..... they are banned unless the politicans themselves and their campaign workers are standing there holding them........ and if they are smart they better be smiling and waving to people who drive by and see them... .the really good thing about that law.. is that you get a better chance to see who is actually represented by those signs.. coz the politican running for office is almost always out there waving.... . ... plus it keeps campaign clutter to a minimum.... when the politician and the campaign workers go home they take the signs with them...... .

I have never ever said Harris is my candidate. I like to ask questions. Some of you believe I'm a liberal, and I don't know of a way to change your mind.

In all honesty, I do not like either candidate.

I liked Ben Carson a lot when he ran, but he could never be a politician like Harris or Trump.

I like old movies like, "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington." I love Jimmy Stewart and Gary Cooper. I am an idealist who as a young child was taught good things about Abe Lincoln and George Washington. Turns out Honest Abe was not always honest because he was human. George Washington owned slaves. Neither of them was perfect, but I thought they were. My ancestors came to America in the 1600s. I want "America to be great again."

I want our judicial system to be strong, and I want our borders to be stronger.

P.S. If admiring Liz Cheney or Mike Pence makes me a liberal, so be it!

I don't discuss politics much anymore because when I find someone who isn't aligned quite like me I get nasty. I'm far from the only one who behaves that way; but I'm tired of it. Don't need it, don't want to play that game anymore.

My political opinion hasn't changed; I'm still quite conservative (by our social definitions) I'll vote for the more conservative voice that has a real chance to beat the liberal. Frankly, since the end of the Reagan era, US conservativism as been a big disappointment to me.

Again, God is in charge, He's neither liberal nor conservative, He'll have His way eventually.

I hear a lot about liberal Hawaiian politics but that is one set-up I'd like to see more states (Washington and Idaho specifically) adopt.

I don’t think admiring Cheney makes you a liberal. Maybe a neocon though 😁

Seriously, what do you admire about her?

As for the OP, my hope isn’t in horses or chariots, but the King of Kings, who can turn kings hearts like rivers, so I plan on continuing keeping the gospel front and center focus.

I don't know I'm not a big fan of limiting free speech.
Who is limiting free speech? It gets pretty tiresome seeing campaign signs littering every vacant space like so much trash.
i should have clarified..... it;s not just political signs that are banned..... all signs are banned ... anything on a stick stuck in the ground or attached to some other structure - including advertizing signs - and especially large billboards like the ones you see on mainland roads and highways.... ....the only exceptions are like what is allowed during campaign seasons when politicians have to hold the sign themselvs.... even murals painted on buildings which are allowed here will be banned if the mural is actually an advertisement disquised as art......

and it;s not about free speech.... though i can understand why some would say it limits it..... .. ..it;s about preventing litter and unsightly trash from taking over the island...... i have been down highways in a some of the western states on the mainland that travel through very beautiful places.. ... but i couldn;t even see it due to all the billboards lined up one after the other blocking the scenery........ ..that is what voters in hawaii have always wanted to avoid.. .... the natural beauty of this places i what brings in the tourists that fuel the economy.... and tourists won;t want to come here if they all see is signs everywhere blocking out that beauty.....

all true..... except we don;t have kings ruling over this country who rule by their own will... .. ..... we have presidents elected by the people who are supposed to submit to our will - the will of the majority in alignment with the constitution.. .. .it;s a right God allowed us to have and i believe He holds us accountable in how we use it.... ... ...... democrats often forget that and start trampling both the will of the people and the constitution... .... ..and it doesn;t really surprise me to see some republicans risk having their rights trampled by voting according to personality rather than focusing on issues... ....

but what does surprise me is see fundamentalist baptists who i clearly remember posting about american patriotism and saying the united states was established as a free christian nation... now talking as if undermining the conservative candidate and enabling an authoritarian marxist to take over is somehow acceptable or ok..... ... ...... yes God can and often does turn the hearts of leaders including both kings and presidents.. . but He also can and often does allow us to suffer the consequences of our own bad decisions....

i have much more i want to say about this.... and i specifically want to answer jo;s post.... (though my sister thinks i;m wasting my time)..... .. but we have a huge lunch reservation we are going to at a very expensive restaurant - that she is paying for... so.... gotta go for now..... be back later.....

What about small signs in someone's personal yard? Does the ban include those?

no.... they are allowed.... but they can;t be right next to the street or be so large they cause a distraction/hazzard to drivers..... still not that many people put campaign signs in their yards here.... and most all of them remove the signs the day after election day......... ...

First of all, I do not believe for ONE SECOND that those who supposedly "stormed" the Capitol were actual Trump Supporters! They literally rolled out the red carpet and let the "insurrectionists" in! Everything was staged and it was bad acting at that. It is just like when Nero burned down Rome and blamed the Christians for it. Some people really need to WAKE UP!!

Secondly, if my candidate is not elected and he is not the one raising his right hand during inauguration day next year, I will accept the fact that God didn't ordain him to be in power and I will accept whoever is and will submit myself as unto the Lord.

If things lead to tyranny and civil unrest, I will pray for the "Lesser Magistrates" to rise up and to do the RIGHT THING and I will submit myselves to them and will do my civic duty whatever that may be.

Go and do some research on the principle of the "lesser magistrates," it is the basis upon which our declaration of independance was made and our war for independence was fought.

Only problem is that I see no underlying movement going on for the last 200 years or so that guided the first one so we may be in a world of trouble and may God help us!

The ones who want to empower the government to tell you what message you are permitted to display on your property.

I asked and folks are allowed to post signs in their personal yards so long as they don't create a distraction for passing motorists.

Restricting the placement of signs does not constitute government mandated or prohibited speech anymore than prohibiting vandalism impede the freedom of speech.
