Trump and Tariffs

No one said it was. I related a story relevant to the topic.
Assuming what you told us about the price hikes is true, the clear and undeniable implication was that it was the natural and direct result of the tariffs, and not mere price gouging, which is really what is behind the immediate and arbitrary price hike of a foreign or domestic good to the exact rate of a new tariff.

But you are ignoring the reasons for the tariffs, which tells me you'd rather have cheap prices on foreign goods than to repel the victimization of your neighbor by foreign aggressors.

I'm in awe of your virtue.

The boss let us know in a department meeting that we were pursuing other vendors due to the price increase that resulted from the tariffs. That's it.

Again, I related a story. Not an op-ed.

How can it not be because of the tariffs 😂

Are y’all really stuck on Trump to the degree that he can do no wrong and that he might be more interested in the corporations than the average American?

If you have a better alternative, please give us a name.

I've been saying that for years.
He is funny. 😂

I thought it sounded so much better coming from him instead of JD when Trump told Zylinsky, you gotta be thankful 😂

if american companies are not using any materials or services from a tariff laden country - then how could the increase in that american companies prices be blamed on tariffs?... ... .... and especially since the tariffs have been paused and not even taking effect yet....

nobody i see here is "stuck on trump".... but there are a few so intent on hating trump that it turns them into mockers and slanderers of other forum members who refuse to hate him as much as they do - or who trust that he might be able to run the government better than anybody else has done so far.... .....

in general i don;t understand economics**.. . but i do know that the american economy will never be strong without strong corporations and businesses.... .. .... but if that was all trump was intersted in then why is he pushing to eliminate taxes on tips and social security?........ for many elderly .... especially those without pensions or who did not inherit the family farm... social security is their primary source of income...... removing the tax on social security would be a direct benefit for them........

**edit and notation - while i do not personally understand economics - the people i live with understand them very well .... and they trust donald trump and believe he is doing the right thing with regard to tariffs...... most of my opinions of this and many other political issues come from them... ....

Tarriffs will increase the price of foreign produced goods, not the price of American produced goods. People will buy American goods. American jobs will be created. GDP will rise. Incomes will rise. Americans will prosper. The reason that relying on foreign goods produced by slave labor, or in the case of India and China, extremely low wage labor, huts the economy,is that it removes income from the US ans transfers American wealth to other countries, their copoorations and Government. It does not help the common man here or there to rely on good produced my EXTREMELY LOW wage labor.

I hope you’re correct about all of this, and it’s this simple and straightforward, but I don’t think it will be.

If he passes no tax on social security, tips and overtime….i will, at least begin to think maybe he is for the average people.

I work in the oil field and have for many years now. I work overtime every week of my life, literally. This would be a huge change in lifestyle.

As tariffs go, we will see is all I’m saying. And I see nothing wrong with questioning Trump and his methods all along the way. Like, for the next 4 years. Why? Because I voted for him and now it’s my responsibility to hold his feet to the fire.

Is Trump a good guy? I have no idea he’s never sat I my kitchen table.

Always, always keep this in mind……the media ONLY ONLY ONLY ALWSYS ALWSYS ALWSYS, paints a narrative for us the people to see and is NEVER NEVER NEVER the entire story. Wether it’s Biden and or Trump, Left or Right, Republican or Democrat.

Trump has never sat at my kitchen table so how would I know anything about him?

Trust me I hope your explanation comes true. I get what you’re saying and it makes sense, it does. And if so, I’ll be right here saying, Trump did good.
