Yeah, that would be a first to have a full time teacher that is a non member.... It is a policy in the employee manual to be a member of FBCH; But he does have a degree and did not have all his credits.... so rules schmools

Once again. I don't blame him and truly hurt for the whole family. I can't imagine having to look at people in the eye and carry on as if everything is getting back to normal. Still quite surprised though that he has not moved on somewhere else yet.  Maybe he has been "overhyped?"

Well his class is still there as well as the signage. At least it was as of last Sunday. Not sure if anyone assembles there on Sunday mornings.

I had heard that he was candidating at some churches for the pastorate a few months ago but have not heard anything since. I wish the best for him and his family. It would also do him good to get out in the real world.

I really wish I can say more, IDK if he reads this forum and somethings he said to me I believe he said in confidence and I really don't want to break his trust or misquote him and cause a stink or any grief for him. I did ask about his working at the college still and was told "It's still unknown what will happen with that". I know he did tell Wilkerson that he was leaving FBCH within the past month.

Is it true JC does not want to be the "lead pastor" going forward? I have heard that is part of the reason why SP hasn't broken off yet... just heresay.

No Jon is the executive pastor he will stay this he is not trying to give it away, and he loves SP. Ken usually preaches on Sat nights and Jon Sunday mornings. We were going to break off last year before the whole thing with Jack went down but that stopped it (they felt FBCH had enough legal issues to deal with at that time and to add another thing to it). As of right now we get 0 assistance from FBCH (financially) there are a couple things here and there we get from FBCH but it's nothing major.
SP is truly unique, I had a buddy come and he was raised in Lake Hills baptist and he was amazed at how laid back we are at SP. He said there was quite a few things that would not have flew over there. SP has really stepped away from the man worship and ridiculous rules  I read about in many forums. What really got him was when he heard "Does it matter what kind of music you listen to... No... The bible don't say this kind is better than this it's really a grey area". If any of you are in CP stop in for a service one time you might be surprised on how we run things there. If you have any questions, if I can, I'll answer them.

Yes... this is one thing that they have kept, the KJV only.... But if you show up with another version you will not be treated like a leper there are several ppl that come with the NIV (I think). I was raised catholic and the church I went to used the KJV so to me until I started looking at churches and reading up on Baptists I was unaware of other versions. I have read another version and it does make it more fluid to read but I do feel some of the umph is taken out of it.

So does it matter what you read... No... but they use the KJV for their readings.

Don't you ever worry about this. Don't ever betray Ken's trust. That boy's world fell apart a year ago and he needs all of the help and friends he can get.
