I have been part of churches that run several hundred. At HAC we all attended what would today be classified as a "mega-church".

In larger churches there are some unique attributes & obstacles that small churches do not have to deal with as much.

Let's have some fun with perspective from the pew or the pulpit & as always staying with the "ONE POST PER IDEA".

You might have a big church if..........

You might have a big church if.....

You have been a member for a number of years & yet never had a conversation with the pastor longer than it would take to shake hands.

YMHABCI....
The president of the United States visits and he still has to wait in line to shake hands with the pastor.

.......you are waiting for the local professional basketball team to build a new stadium so you can purchase the old one for a church auditorium.

.......anytime a political official is in the area you have them say a word of greeting to the crowd.

.......your church coffee shop has cut the local Starbuck's profit in half.

......your nursery facility is the size of the first church you pastored.

.....you don't have revival meetings because every Sunday is already a revival meeting.

.....Jerry Jones calls you to get advice on how to get a sharper picture on his big screen.

.....the satellite dish on the church property can be physically seen by space satellite.

.....anytime a Southern Gospel group is within 200 miles of you they call to see if you could use them for a concert.

...............half of the books in your bookstore were authored by you.

......you have missed church service for a month and no one noticed.

YMHABC if............... you buy baptistries by the bulk rate.

Off topic, but does anyone remember when Pastor's School was at Chicago's Amphitheater and Bro Hyles' goal was to have an astronomical number of baptisms?  I believe that he brought in 7 baptisteries for this night, but they fell short of his goal----I can't remember was the number he was hoping to reach.  Curtis Hutson preached was the key note speaker for the evening and he preached a sermon on salvation.

That was a bit before my time but I have seen pictures.  They did the same thing at Pastor's School when I was a HAC student except it was at the Hammond Civic Center.

you have been a member for a number of years & you attend a Sunday service & realize you did not talk to or run into anyone that you know personally that day.
