Oh but I did choose to respond in a biblical way after reading his OP...just not the particular biblical way you chose...

"Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him.  Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own eyes.  ----PROVERBS 26: 4-5
You do realize to answer Biblically according to the verse you cited, you would have ignored the OP, right?

Of course..you do realize that some people take these forums and the interaction far too seriously...right?  And actually, you were the one who said I gave a non-answer to his points...that being said I am right in line with using the above verses! 8)

"First mover"!?! Roflmbo! That sounds like a song you and reformed guy could have sang together during woodstock (which was way before my time, btw). Now I have the answer to my question - you're STILL chasing that dragon, arent you?

Not to mention the fact that it's complete bull. What, was God the first mover in lucifer's rebellion too?

So you live, move and have your being completely on your own initiative?  Gotcha...you are clueless!

Of course I move on my own initiative. Are you suggesting God came up with all the junk you've been posting on this board and has been moving your fingers while you pound away on your keyboard? Does he load your needles too?

I always knew calvinists were jerks but I didnt know they were such junkies too.

Your original post kind of interested me and I was going to engage you on it at some point. This post convinced me that it probably isn't worth my time.

The real Calvinist on this forum would laugh in your face that you would call me a Calvinist.  BTW...I didn't know I was speaking to God...or at least someone who thinks they are god...don't change what I wrote...are you self existing, are you your own source of life...you do because you make it so???  I guess you have a problem with what Paul wrote about this?  Move away from the psycho mushrooms!

T-bone?

OK, Nameless has just solidified his kook bona fides.

Does showing this much ignorance come from a natural talent, or is it something that must be cultivated?

Are you suggesting that there have never been Christian governments or that Christian governments are not oppressive?  Either way, your response is ignorance incarnate not just in the fact that you're wrong on both counts, but you weren't even clear about what you were talking about.

Clearly, you are the president of that club!

It's normally a good idea to get to know people before dropping massive articles in a forum.  :)

I'm not new to the fundamental forums and know many of these posters.  My identity is included in my original post.  I've just changed my username:)

Either way, there's nothing wrong with me posting my article here before introducing myself.

I asked you earlier if you wanted me to clarify something, flower girl.  What exactly is it that's causing this short term memory loss?

Maybe if you would step away from sniffing your socks before you post, there would be some clarity in what you say!  Idiot!

I don't agree with some of what he says (mainly how he is assigning points to each category and the fact that he's ignoring other economic systems entirely), but if I choose to engage, it will not be with a "you're a stupid moron" but rather both my agreements or objections to things the OP has stated with explanations as to why.

I appreciate your reasonable tone, rsc2a.  I'd actually much rather carry on a discussion without the name calling and ridiculous rabbit trails, but many posters here don't seem capable of that.

I didn't mention other economic systems because all others are variations of these three.  If you read my full post on my blog (just the very last couple paragraphs), you'd understand that I advocate a mixed economy like the U.S. has.  Also, capitalism has been embattled by socialism and communism since Karl Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto and that battle is becoming relevant once again in light of the coming elections.

As far as the point system, it was the best way I could think to show that some passages of scripture support the ideals of communism, others support those of socialism and still others support those of capitalism.  I was simply taking a tally of these in order to make my next point.  If you have a better way of doing this or a more specific objection as to why you don't like it, I'd love to hear it.

I'm sorry, I'm not up to date on all the latest user street terms.  What exactly does "sniffing your socks" mean and what do you mix it with?

This all seems basically correct to me, though I'd have some quibbles about calling Christianity a lifestyle. Agreed though that it's not a good basis for government, at least not without Jesus as the head of it, and I mean returned and in person, not people claiming to be acting in His name.

If Christianity's not a lifestyle, then what is it?  Not to be overly argumentative, but I honestly don't understand.  Would you call everyone who is "saved" (or whatever word you want to attribute to conversion) a Christian, regardless of how they live their lives?

The way I understand it, Christianity is believing in Jesus as the son of God and following (or attempting to follow) His teachings and actions.  I believe that is a lifestyle, and thus I would suggest that those people who are claiming to act in His name (like T-Bone and reformed guy) without actually following Him are Christians.  I'd like to hear your take on it.

I think it's more just the connotations that come with the word "lifestyle". I agree that if you're a Christian, which means Christ-follower, you should be following Christ. I probably don't do that nearly as well as I should, but I least try, and ask for His help in doing better.

Suggest all you want...agreeing with you on anything is hardly a basis for judging someone's salvation... and if you want to just deal with other's perspectives as to how one relates on a fighting forum...you better look in the mirror next time you are concerned with whether someone is saved!

Don't lie and accuse me of changing your words when I used your exact quote.  One of the things you asked me if I can do on my own initiative is move, and that is the only one I responded to.  If you want to make jokes and say my article was stupid, that's fine, but now you've accused me of dishonesty and that's personal.
