What are you listening to right now?

my mom loved journey... i heard a lot of it when i was a child... . but as far as i know she
never danced to any of their music.. which is why i can tolerate it mildly... and it;s also
why i can;t stand to hear most of the songs done by zz-top.. aerosmith ..some of the
rolling stones etc... because she and her co-workers danced to those songs all the time
.. hearing them brings back memories of being in the backroom behind the stage waiting

for her to get off work and take me home....

however.... this song brings back memories of standing on a kitchen chair stirring a pot
of spaghettios.. (which made up half my meals back then.. and which is what i was doing
the first time i ever heard it... )
.. we also had tv dinners and cheap chicken pot pies in

the freezer which i learned how to thaw out and cook for myself before i even started school.
... so the first time i ever heard this song on the radio i thought i had found kindred spirits.
.. as if..
"finally!... someone understands... .i'm not alone!..."

Did you know that  Dusty Frank Beard is the only member of ZZ Top that didn't grow his beard out?

you mean frank beard... the drummer.. right?.... . dusty hill was the bass player along with billy gibbons on the lead guitar... they both had serious fuzzy faces going on... but the guy named beard was always clean shaven..(except for the occasional mustache)... ..... i saw an interview done with frank beard right after dusty hill died..... ..it was pretty eye opening....

my mom was also a big fan of elvis presley.... she even had a huge painting of
him on black velvet hanging above her bed.... ..i remember asking her who that
was and she replied.... "that;s the king, baby... elvis presley".... so that stayed
in my head for a long time... and tumbled around in there like things do in a kids
head - until the year i started school... and learned to my dismay that america did
not have a king... we had a president...and he wasn;t elvis presley.. he was a wormy
looking guy with a squeaky voice named george bush..... and everybody knew by
just looking at him that guy couldn;t sing.....

but this guy could.....

You're right. Corrected.

Journey is my #1 (well, Journey from that early <Perry> era)
That was my favorite group when Steve Perry was there! I got suspended from Bible college for one day because I was listening to their cassette (Don't Stop Believin'")... I nearly did at that time...was so sick of the BS that the "religious" sect of society was propagating when they said rock was wrong, but listened to their adulterous country & Western music. LOL
