That explains the antique video display behind the pulpit.

That is no excuse for ancient technology.  If it's worth doing, do it first-class!

Perhaps you want to pop for a few thousand for a new setup. You will have to get Meeks permission to change anything first. The building and all furnishings are still owned by Salem Baptist Church.

LOL!  First, it wouldn't be just a "few" thousand.  There's plenty of money there.  Just pass the plate.  Then pass'em again!  What you need is one of those old-fashioned money raisin' preachers who would embarrass everyone for not "sacrificing".

Of course I'm just kidding.  IFB churches have no money and use Radio Shack hand-me-downs.  Even FBCH has hum in its audio.  Embarrassing!

Well I originally put few million, but I changed it, didn't want to seem greedy.

Just one 84x box lens for a camera could be 100,000.00.

Ok here is a bit of history on the building that Freddy is using for the ecclesia he is pastoring.

Here are some quotes on Polish History in Chicago.

http://pgsa.org/research-directory/archdiocese-of-chicago-polish-parishes/st-salomea-church-history/

"Under Father Jagielski?s leadership, construction began on a new church at the southwest corner of 118th and Indiana Ave. Before the edifice was completed, he was transferred to another parish. Father Jagielski later served as pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church on the northwest side of Chicago.

In March 1912, Rev. John M. Lange was named pastor. Prior to this appointment, he had been pastor of Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago, IL. Father Lange supervised the completion of St. Salomea Church and the magnificent Gothic edifice was dedicated on May 30, 1913. At the time, the parish numbered 500 families as well as 500 single persons. Active parish societies included St. Stanislaus Kostka, St. Salomea, St. Adalbert, Uhlans, John Sobieski, St. Joseph, and the Rosary Ladies."

So it was started as Catholic for Polish speaking people.

In July 1990, Salem Baptist Church purchased properties located at 11800 South Indiana, which included a church auditorium, school, parsonage and convent.

In 2005, Salem moved to the House of Hope, a 10,000 seat arena built the same year. Salem currently  has over 20,000 members.

So the building at 118th and Indiana sat empty until it was offered to Freddy.
Pastor Meeks was very gracious in facilitating the move into the building that had been vacant for about 10 years. It came with everything in it just as it was when they moved out. Freddy's group is renting the building including all furnishings. That explains the antique video display behind the pulpit.

Here is a video by a member of the Catholic Church when it met in the building.

This one gives you a little feel for the area.

Very interesting YT!

The Roloff plane is gone or did they relocate it?

Yes, they relocated it to the metal recyclers, to get money for the scap aluminum, besides it was an eyesore.

Have they no respect for history?

Have they turned their backs on the old paths.

Does heritage no longer matter?

These were the very symbols of their past.

I always wondered how HAC would rename something after someone disagrees with HAC.....then their name is removed, even if thousands or millions of dollars are donated for the bldg.  Or if a bldg is named "in memory of",  such as the Sallee Chapel/Library.  I was thinking of the Beiler Courtyard and Beiler Auditorium......it's as if John Beiler never donated a penny to HAC.

That bus was in very poor condition when it arrived from Texas. It just sat at the edge of the parking lot and rot was the only thing it did well.
It also when to the metal recycler's for extra cash.

This meeting tonight kicks off our winter revival. Men only no women allowed.
