The rule you hated the most at HAC

Not really a rule but I hated with a passion that radar gun that the security guys used in the hac parking lot. Speed limit was 10mph and even if you didn't think you were over I was constantly getting tickets in my mailbox for speeding and there was no court of appeal. When they constantly complained about budgets and money I always felt that if they could afford a radar gun for that stupid little parking lot, things couldn't be that bad.

kaba, I wore tights and a long skirts with boots. Barb and I stopped a lot to warm keep warm

As unspiritual as this may sound, ladies' dorm devotions four nights a week.  We had to sit on the floor across from each other up and down a narrow hallway that was barely wide enough for our legs to stretch out.  Dorm supe stood on a chair to lead them and we had to look up and sideways to see her.

I understand dorm devotions once a week or so, but seriously, the time spend listening to "The Little Engine that Could" would have served me better with getting into bed and asleep sooner.

Personally, I thought filling out activity reports was stupid.  Understood, but stupid.

Lady dorm students were required to "sign out/in" on their dorm door to go outside anywhere except to the DeCoster Dining Hall once it was built.  I understand for shopping, bus calling, even church, but to have to sign out to go to the gym or for a walk around the lake on a nice day?
Eat lunch with your man and we were SUPPOSED to walk back to our dorm to sign out before we could go outside with him.

As kaba said the nylons any time we left the dormitory was a little too far into the stupid zone.  It bears repeating.

We had dormitory supervisors who stood on chairs and read us stories (in all fairness, there probably were some good actual devotions. ), yet we most days never ever saw or even got to know them them otherwise.  We weren't even allowed to knock on their doors.  I know their reasons were that those little suites were their "homes", etc., etc., but what good is a supposed role model that you don't know?

I really felt bad for the ladies at college while I was there. They had no freedom. We guys would go to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch sometimes. I am sure if any HAC lady went there, they would have to meet with the discipline committee.

I hated having to fill out a pass to go anywhere.

Attending every service that FBCH had every time.

I went to an ordination service for a close friend on a Sunday night at a Bible church in the area & was honest in filling out the Activity Report to say so.

Sam springer went nuts (not Baptist & no FBCH).....& gave me a pile of demerits. I fought him tooth & nail & threatened to go to JH if he didn't drop it.

After weeks........he did.

Hair not "touching" ears.

Guess they'd never seen hair like mine. Usually I got Laruent for hair check..............I'd give him one of my Marine stares & he always say something like, "I don't know why I don't give you demerits."

AMEN a dozen times to this one!! While I appreciate the devotions, at that time of night I was dog tired from being up at 5:00 in the morning to work the breakfast shift, and up all day. Once I was so sick/tired the dorm supe let me lay half in and half out of my room. Our health and well being was not thought of.

For me, it was my neck. I am a short guy and my neckline, even when tapered, is relatively close to the collar. I would inevitably fail haircheck even if I had gotten a haircut two weeks prior. Meanwhile, the tall guy in front of me sailed through even though his was six weeks ago...

Pray for me. I am in the gall of bitterness.  :D

You stinkin' rebellious girls needed to glean from CF's wisdom.

Now that is not a thought that I would like to think about.

The 4" slit rule.....ugh!  Especially when we were told that the deacons voted it in, yet I never saw a deacon's wife abide by it.  Cindy Schaap either.  Fun times!

If Im not mistaken, in the early 80's slits were not allowed
