The Longest Thread in the History of the FFF....

How about just a hint?? 😬
Not on your life! Even my wife doesn't get that one. Besides, this old man couldn't remember that after nearly 40 years! LOL

The frozen Walmart brand of biscuits are surprisingly good. Not Bojangles good, but a decent substitute. Hardee’s biscuits are hit or miss depending on the location. Chick-Fil-A biscuits used to be terrible, but it seems they improved their quality or recipe in the last year or so and they are at least palatable now.

Pillsbury grands frozen buttermilk biscuits are as close to homemade as I've tasted. Quick story...

My soulwinning partner (gone on to glory now) was a real salt of the earth fella who was married to one of them old-time cooks who used copious helpings of crisco, lard, and butter in her recipes. She could make ya fat real fast. Well, one Saturday morning I headed over to my soulwinning buddy's (John) house to pick him up and go knock a few doors for Jesus. I knocked on the door, ready to rock and roll, but she said he wasn't quite ready and invited me in for a spell. Just like a lot of those ladies from her generation (like my mom) she loved people with food, so she said "here, have ya some biscuits and gravy" (this in those days before I worried about that confounded devil called Type 2 Diabetes ). My reputation as a biscuit and gravy connoisseur preceded me, so I didn't wanna let her down ya know, all for bein' respectful n stuff, so I chowed down while John got ready. I made fast work of that scrumptious manna and said "you sure know how to cook, and that made from scratch down-home stuff just can't be beat!" I got up to go out the door because John was finally ready, and she grabbed me by the arm and said "honey (she called everybody honey), let me show you something" and she led me over to the fridge and opened up the top freezer door then pointed at the Pillsbury bag and said "there's my homemade biscuits, they're just as good anything I ever made". She should have gotten a commission from the Doughboy because from that day forward I was SOLD!

Never have liked Chick-Fil-A biscuits. None of the locations here have good biscuits. I think the only acceptable location was in Louisville, KY back a few years ago. Hardees used to have me as a biscuit maker in 1987, but, they were so stringent in what they allowed, if I'd have added the same secret ingredient, I would have been fired! Never have liked their biscuits either. Some locations have decent biscuits, but, as you state, it's really hit-and-miss.

I've never seen biscuits "leap!" I have, however, seen biscuits "fly!" LOL

sorry... i know that might be breakfast blasphemy to many mainlanders....
but biscuits are just not a big thing in hawaii... they do serve them at
restaurants that cater to tourists though.. but for the majority of local
people the big carb eaten with eggs and sausage at breakfast time is rice...
... which is also eaten at lunch... dinner... midnight snacks....etc...:cautious:

but we don;t eat much rice in our house either... unless it;s wild rice.
or the very dark brown variety..... never white rice... i guess you
say we are rice-ists in that regard... :sneaky:
That restaurant I told you about that introduced me to the poke bowl uses the same sticky rice that is used in their sushi rolls. LOTS of it. About half of the volume of the bowl. "No problem" I thought... but after eating tat much rice, I was BLOATED.
