I need some info, please:

What is the longest that you have ever been a member of the same church, and what denomination was it?

11 years at Abundant Life Assemblies of God church.

Every Monday I go to the weekly open-air market, looking for accessories for my lay-out. And today is Mexican Independence Day, and they had a parade that included all the school children holding up their nation's flag as they marched.

And then a heavy cloudburst hit.

And the children kept on marching, holding high their flags, because Mexico is a nation of courage.

Not sure marching in the rain constitutes courage, but we'll go with that. As kids we used to play in the rain all the time.

What about the over 600,000 Americans who gave their lives in our nations last 6 major conflicts.

US Soldiers lost in WWI 116,516*
US Soldiers Lost in WWII 405,399*
US Soldiers lost in Korea 36,501*
US Soldiers Lost in Vietnam 58,209*
US Soldiers Lost in Gulf wars 3836*
US Soldiers Lost in Afghanistan 1833*

* Number includes Soldiers, Airman, Sailors and Marines (Men and Women)

I wish their courage would keep them in Mexico, to make Mexico a better place instead of trying to flee here, undocumented.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hadn't had a chance to drop in for quite a while.

I will say, once magic tricks are known and understood, it is difficult to go back to the magic show and see the same illusions and get something new or inspirational from them.

And yes, the magic show is a metaphor for church here. ;)

My cousin lives in the south and had the baby Jesus in her manger scene swiped and replaced with a lighted chicken.

Time for a commercial!

Well, Praise the Lord for a terrible day yesterday. We had 19 kids in children's church, and the church van broke down at the church. I was taking half the kids home in my own van when the left front axle collapsed on a busy highway. They got the church van started again, and it broke down in a crowded area of narrow streets and two construction projects.

After a tow truck had brought my van back to my house, I took my SUV and went hunting for the church van. I found the driver in tears, with half the kids still with her.

I sent her and the kids off in my vehicle while I waited for a mechanic. We got the van started, but it broke down in an intersection. I got it started and it broke down again. Then the mechanic showed up again, because he had been trapped by construction and one-way streets.
After more than an hour's work, we had to leave the van where it was.
During all of this, I remembered how Jim Vineyard taught us to soldier on when things get rough. I remembered his quote "God has to let the Devil win some of the time, or he might get discouraged and quit."

HAC really did teach us some valuable lessons.
