I remember sitting in the old auditorium -- the one that predates what is now the old auditorium. The college was then located at Baptist City. None of our teachers were HAC graduates! Among the students were Johnny Pope, Roy Moffett, David Nelms, and David Hyles ... and Paula (whatever her last name was then).
Then while the new auditorium was being built, church services were held at the Civic Center. A very young Jerry Falwell was a guest speaker. There was no CF ... no RY. One of the guest speakers in chapel preached against wire-rimmed glasses, and the new young Bible teacher, Joe Combs, switched from horn-rimmed to wire-rimmed just for spite. Everyone's favorite (mine too!) chapel speaker was Bob Gray from Jacksonville, Florida. Lester Roloff was a regular visitor.
