I sit in the old fbc auditorium and as Mrs. Elaine Colsten steps up to sing, the little girl in front of me turns her hearing aid off.
"Oh, Archie"

Earnestly Contend

I hear Dr. Evans singing "Have yourself a merry little Christmas...NOW!

"if you can imagine yourself sitting in a pew at FBCH during your time there, "

I'll take this breach of intended posting up w/ Raider. Of course though a post is a post!

I see nothing but the inside of my eye lids as I suffered through Sunday night services.  But I would love to be back in those days. 8)

To be honest, there were some Sunday evening services, after leaving campus around 5 :45 AM, that I rather looked forward to my turn in the mezzanine where I didn't have to stand up for singing, etc., and I could be nearly invisible.

I can totally understand why you say that, but your last name did not start with the same letter as Raider's did.  :(

It seemed like I always got to watch him drool while he snored.

Teri, being in a separate group of last names frim Raider is something which bubbles up from a grateful heart yet today.

Praise the Lord!

When I was a kid at FBC, the evening services started at 7pm and we'd be still at the church at our normal bed time.  In the 70's, Bro Hyles would baptize, the lights would be dimmed and organ music would softly play......ZZZZZZZZZZZ!  Sound asleep!

The main problem with the Mezzarack was the heat.  It was always terribly hot.

And it stank.  Smelled like a bunch of HACkers who had spent the day sweating profusely on a bus, while being smothered with kids who hadn't bathed in a week, and were now passed out cold allowing every bodily function to release fumes.
