Yes, that's Bob Plopper, with my dad.

Many good memories of these fine families.  My first memories of FBC are Charlene Newton and Dot Barr---my first Sunday School teachers/superintendents.

Bro.Plopper looked like that for decades.

Awwww...my mom will love hearing that!  Thank you!

I see Mrs Johnson handing Brother Hyles a note before she walks to the pulpit to sing.

Boy, I bet Mrs Johnson could write a best seller about FBC.  She grew up in the church and she's the mother-in-law of the Nischick's daughter.......makes me wonder what was in the letter that she handed to Bro Hyles
before her song.

She was 100% Hyles for many years.  I remember her voice sometimes sounding like a 6 year old girl.  :)

Before I ever knew her name, I just thought of her as "the happy lady".  ;D

She was that!

I remember sitting in the balcony behind the piano so I could watch Mrs. Godfrey play.  In my opinion, she was the best musician on staff.  (I loved watching her play the organ in college chapel too.  She KNEW her instruments and was an expert in each.)

I can remember the time my roommate sitting in Wed or Sunday night church with our note cards memorizing some whole chaper in Psalms for Marlene Evans' class. And having someone behind me tap me on the shoulder and tell me she knew what I was doing, and she was going to tell on me!!!! Was so afraid I was going to get in trouble!!!

I remember hearing this guy sing.....& I still miss Ray & his music.

Too operatic (is that a word?) for me.  I remember when he came to my home church for a big day.  He was singing and the ushers allowed a couple of people to slip into the auditorium.  Ray stopped singing and began to lecture the crowd on how much he put into his music and the disrespect of people walking around while he sang.  Needless to say, it was his last time at the church.  :)
