Since it's October, anybody miss Lisa Ruby?

That’s a great statement. I’ve never really considered the concept of the origin of evil. I’ve thought about why God allow evil, but the origin is a very different question.
Carson wrote a massive book called

Divine Sovereignty and Human Responsibility: Biblical Perspective in Tension

He also wrote a shorter version called "How Long O Lord, Reflections on Suffering and Evil" It is the best book I have read on the subject.

I know what you mean by the question, but yes he does. Obviously the fall of the angels and Satan’s role in this world is an obvious example.
As is the selling of Joseph into Egypt, the enslavement of the Israelites, the trial and crucifixion of Jesus, the persecution of the Church by Paul, or Paul's arrest resulting in the Gospel being proclaimed to the highest levels of Roman authority.

That said, God wasn't heeding the medium's fraudulent performance in any case. He was not at her beck and call. He judged Saul on his timetable.

And now, moderation of this board will be revealed to be about objectivism or cronyism.

Say what you want about the baptistboard.com there is at least the attempt to be objective, even if they don't always achieve it.
I'm not at your beck and call, either. Quit whining.

I remember a couple weeks ago someone here saying there was a member on BaptistBoards posting heliocentric comments and wondering if it was you. If I recall, you flat out denied going on that forum. Hmmmm 🤔

Philosophically I can probably get deeper, but I’m very much a layman theologically, so help me out here.
Think in terms of primary and secondary causes, or at least what Aristotle would have termed efficient and final causes.

The efficient (or proximate) cause of something is the immediate reason why it happened. Why did the house burn down? Combustible materials in the presence of oxygen and a heat source caught fire.

The final (or ultimate) cause is the end or purpose that it happened. Why did the house burn down? The homeowner torched it to commit insurance fraud.

God decrees everything that comes to pass, including evil acts, some of which are explicitly said in Scripture to be part of the divine plan (e.g. the captivity of Joseph or the crucifixion of Christ). But God is not the author of sin, because, for example, he does not commit or command sin. Sinners need no such command; they work their evil by their own volition, but in accordance with God's plan for the world. He is the final cause of sin, not the efficient cause.

I think the way we phrase the question (Does God allow evil?) is the issue. God “allows” evil in his foreknowledge and sovereignty, but not in the active verb sense of the word “allow” that humans view it as. He knows the evil that will take place, and in a sense, allows it, but not in a permissive manner. Is this accurate? Philosophically I can probably get deeper, but I’m very much a layman theologically, so help me out here.
John Macarthur is a Calvinist, and the waters you are wading into regarding the extent of God's relationship to evil is not
monolithic along the predestination spectrum, this gives a short but reasonable answer...

That was me. I denied going on the Christian forums.

A. You can post a picture of any woman in the world from the internet, we’d have no way of verifying the authenticity of such picture. B. I don’t care what your girlfriend looks like. C. I don’t care what you look like. D. I only posted my profile pic for your pleasure (the manly pursuit of fly fishing for redfish—butt clenched in hot anticipation). 😆
I will bet Ugly Joe doesn't post one. He will appeal to some virtue. By and large, though, we know why most women who don't post their pics don't post their pics.

You seem to enjoy this kind of thing talking about cellmates, underwear, etc. Seems your "preference," not ours. Yeee hawww!!!!
I love rolling in the mud. I'll descend as far as you want to take the discussion. Now, about that pic of the woman you have to sleep with...

I’m not interested in seeing a picture of your girlfriend or his wife. Why would anyone here even want to see a picture of someone’s significant other? You don’t even have your own photo posted. All of the good conversations we’ve had on here today and you’re thinking about his wife? C’mon dude.

I'm just answering the fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.

Attributing a post to me that I didn't post proves you're a child of Satan. Why don't you go and commit some unspeakable action against yourself, perv? The only fool here is you...and you've prove nit time and again. Thanks for continuing to be consistent in this! LOL Jackass!

Truth. He ends up being a liar too.

Oh, I will beet my retirement investments that you will not post a pic.

Whatever floats your boat….
The sad part is the sorry old puke is attributing your statement to me to try and prove his point. He's not very bright, and he's continuing to prove it over and over.

I only interjected because he’s asking for a picture of your wife…why would he want that?!? Strange.
