I reserve any more comment until this is authenticated. There is much to it the makes it seem inauthentic.

I just got off the phone with Dr. Anderson a few moments....and yes, the letter is legit.  He did write and send this letter.  IT IS NOT A JOKE!

I just got off the phone with Dr. Anderson! He told me to tell you that you're all WRONG!

He wants the Hyles name removed from the college name! 

I hope you are right, both men's names must be removed if we are to recover from our past baggage.

Well he is known to sue Christian brothers that have taken his benevolent donations.

This is why! How can you stand by and let a college be named after you for 30 some years and all of a sudden want it removed within 90 days. Sounds like a nut to me. He stated that the big reason is that they are no longer following bro hyles directions. He has been dead for almost 15 years! They surely did not believe that the kjbv whatever was inspired when they started.

The Scott Roberts I know, who incidentally is a really good guy from our HAC days, was hired to work on the HAC security. He got tagged with the nickname and it stuck. Mostly he was called Rolo for short.

I think this newbie using this name is probably a fraud. I don't think Scott was that close with Russell Anderson. If this guy shows up again I'll pm Scott on facebook and ask.

I have a hard time believing this letter from Dr. Anderson is real. Dr. Anderson is still close with Bob Gray who seems to like Bro. John Wilkerson a great deal. He is also a member of Metro Baptist Church which maintains ties with FBC/HAC.

Now assume for a minute this letter is true. Bro. Anderson has asked HAC to remove his name. I wonder if there are any signed agreements allowing HAC to use his name and any provisions for a buyout if he wants out.

And if this letter is a hoax I wonder if Dr. Anderson can sue and press charges against the one who perpetrated the fraud.

Yes Rolo is what some called him because he loved to eat too much, I used robocop because that's what many of his friends called him.

I always treated him like a son.

I have to say if I gave $50,000 to a church for the express purpose of starting the college and had the word of the CEO that it would be used specifically for that purpose then that's what I would expect.

After repeated efforts to get them to keep their end of the the agreement, he then asked for the money back.
That's how I heard the story and I think they should return it. It's not like he just put it in the offering plate, they had an agreement. If they don't want a college now then give it back and let him help start one somewhere else. I think he should have put the money in escrow until the college opened.

From both a legal and an ethical standpoint he seems in the right here.
I understand 1 Corinthians 6 does likely apply here.

While he may be right legally, he is "DEAD" wrong according to the Bible.

If all he did was bluff that he was going to sue, I could let that skate, but he went forward with the suite, in direct contradiction to God's explicit instructions and command.
