President Jimmy Carter - RIP

but that;s the whole point huk.... it;s the first 3 words of the song.. .. the words that set the theme for the rest of the piece.... and to a christian the words "imagine there;s no heaven" is the same as saying God lied to us..... .... from the very beginning - all the way back to the garden of eden when he spoke to eve in the form of a beautiful creature... that has been the words satan uses to deceive the world... .. he creeps up next to us in ways every bit as appealing as the melody of that music and says God has told us lies...... ..... and if we buy into that one then the next thing he tells us is that there is no God....

and to the point you were making with baptist city holdout - who can listen to the music by itself without having the words run through their mind as well?.... .. not to sound like the church lady or the water boys mother - but that song is the devil.... . or... debil.. as she would have put it... the music is ruined because it was used to spread the devils message... .. .. i still can;t believe there are christian churches that actually play that song and sing it..... sometimes the thirst for contemporary music carries christians too far.....
Please, don't confuse Huk with the truth. It seems lately he's always trying to find a way to defend the indefensible.

I’ll concede it isn’t an appropriate song for church. I won’t read into it more than that. I wouldn’t play it at my funeral, but I guess each person can do whatever they wish at that time.

I believe he did cast a vote for Harris, absentee. Though he slept a lot and was on hospice, his family members believed he did as well. We can only go by what they said. You can believe what you will, that's your right.
Maybe. When someone is so elderly and bedridden that they are no longer speaking for themselves, I guess I get a little suspicious of propaganda being spread. Then again, maybe he did believe in voting for Harris. Either way, I really don’t care.

and when someone implies that the only reason he never cheated on his wife is because he never got an offer - reveals more about that persons own character than it does to besmear carters
LOL. Again, it was sarcasm about Carter's weakness, compared to Trump. Now, someone as insightful as yourself should know that, and I think you do.

But honestly, if you're looking for a President's fidelity to praise...wouldn't HW's be a better candidate? 🧐

An alleged affair . . . but I was making a quip about Barbara's looks...

Now before you get all fakey indignant . . . don't try to say they never came up. They were a primary subject in lampooning Bush the First. I was a second-year senior in college during the 88 election (switched majors). When Bush won the election, students were wearing buttons that said, "...but he has to sleep with her."

I was a lot younger than you when Bush Daddy was president, but I was old enough to remember the TV late night guys poking fun of her looks.

i am well aware of what you meant..... and most all of us agree that carter was a weak president .... not only that but he gave off a weak image in other ways too - unrelated to his presidency.. ... ... but that;s not what i found objectionable about your comment..... it was this statement you made in the quote below.....
.
............. Of course he was faithful. What woman could be attracted to him?
that comment implies that the only reason carter did not cheat on his wife was because no woman other than his wife was willing....... i know you meant it as sarcasm and a joke ... but it;s a smear against his character that is unfair and unnecessary.....

but it goes beyond just a slam against carter..... it also implies that every other man in the world ..(including yourself).... would be no different.. . the only thing keeping the faithful ones true to their wives is the lack of an opportunity..... ....it makes it sound as if no man can be trusted.... .....and i know that is not true... .

Let’s just call it what it is. He’s literally admitted to making the comment about Carter’s fidelity to his wife as a comparison to Trump, and it being a sign of weakness. We all know about Trump’s famous and viral video in which he tells a younger man that men have to learn to “grab women by the —-///.” We also know about Trump’s track record with women in life…it’s well documented at this point.

I guess I never realized that part of being a strong man includes sexual promiscuity throughout your marriage. I know Ekk is a great theologian, so I’m hoping he can show me some Bible verses to explain how that’s an acceptable mindset to have in life.

You two crack me up

Let's try this again. You tried to say Carter was a moral pillar, compared to Trump.

My quip was, Well sure, what temptress would find him appealing?

More later, but can't let you get away with spins. You're bordering on lying now.

Actually, I never said Carter was a moral pillar, and you were the one who brought in Trump’s name, saying your vague insult to Carter was meant as a comparison to him. And you say we are bordering on lying and spinning?

Here’s a thought: just say you made a comment that was not acceptable and leave it at that.

i never mentioned trump.... . and i also never said carter was a moral pillar.... . one good quality does not equal perfect moral character - although lack of any one of a dozen other moral qualities does destroy it...... ..it;s that little bit of leaven corrupting the whole lump sort of thing..... .... ¿entiendes eso señor experto en inglés?

what i did say was making an assumption that carter would have cheated on his wife if only the opportunity had been there - was unfair and unnecessary... and that it made negative implications against all men... including you.... ... .. .i also said your comment reflected more on your true character than it does on carters... .

My quip was, Well sure, what temptress would find him appealing?

now you are lying... . you said nothing about a temptress in your statement..... you said - "what woman could be attracted to him?"
..... here it is copied directly from your post in case you forgot.....

would you like to explain how the word "woman"... ... that covers any and every woman everywhere... became "temptress?" .... or are you one of those depraved sordid types that considers all women temptresses?.....

More later, but can't let you get away with spins. You're bordering on lying now.
well you are far and beyond the leader of the band when it comes to lying on the forum...... spinning the things other people say... then pretending to forget what you said yourself..... ..... ..how about we simply establish that you - thinking as you imagine a temptress would.. and using your personal criteria for considering an attempt at temptation worthwhile - would not find carter appealing - and leave it at that?........ ¿esto se adaptaría a tus propósitos?
