Other than friends what do you miss the most?

I'm not at all being facetious here when I say this, but the thing I miss most is the campus itself.

From the time I was 8 years old, I spent my summers working on grounds. Being an introvert, there were many places to get alone by myself, many hours on the riding lawnmower in prayer and song, hours and hours of sweat developing the character and even a love of hard labor and responsibility, the laughter and fun working with the other staff kids, etc.

Most everything about HAC is either neutral or negative in my mind, but looking back on the campus itself, the beauty of the grounds (goose poop excluded), spots of seclusion, hours of my growing years spent there, that is what I truly miss the most.

I miss the threat of expulsion for saying the word, "Hacker".

I suggest we all get t-shirts with "HACker" on it and all meet at HAC at the same time for a "tour".

Smellin' I must say after reading that first paragraph a tear evades my eye, and I almost fell like writing a poem about you!

I totally agree.  I took a trip to Indiana a few months ago.  The good memories came back to me and the beauty of nature was very tranquil.

I wonder how long it would be before someone asked us to change shirts or leave?

I miss being shaken to the very bone by the sound of the organ when you walk into the auditorium.

I miss the bus route prayer meetings at 0630 Saturday mornings...said no one...

That was always a killer.  You would wake up early on Saturday morning knowing you would be heading to Chicago and not arriving back to the dorm until 10:30pm.

Unless you went back early to the salad bar to eat with Teri with the other salad bar girls!
