At this point there are conflicting stories.  It may have been Zimmerman's over-zealousness that led to a reckless disregard for life, but the facts as you've portrayed them do not coalesce with eyewitness accounts that contradict your version.  Which one is accurate?  Time may tell.  Let the courts and investigations do their work, rather than feed the mob frenzy, like the Illinois congressman who wore a hoodie onto the house floor today (in deliberate and direct violation of rules of order).  Those people should be working to keep the order, not incite a more virulent mob mentality.

And regardless of whose account you believe, Zimmerman had a broken nose and contusion to the back of the head.  Must have been some really hard muddy grass area.

I'm willing to let due process and justice take its proper course, but a certain faction of folk are sure in a rush to judgment before all the facts are in, or so it seems.

You find it interesting that most white Christian males that are conservative think reasonably? I find it to be the norm.

What is more un-American than forgetting that someone is innocent until proven guilty? Yet Congressional Black Caucus member Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., on Wednesday appointed herself judge, jury and police detective as she stood in the House of Representatives with a placard that read, "Trayvon Martin's Murderer Still At Large."

"I want America to see this sweet young boy who was hunted down like a dog, shot in the street, and his killer is still at large," Wilson said, adding that "we all know who the murderer is. This was a standard case of racial profiling. No more! No more!"

To some Democrats, investigation, indictment and trial of Martin's alleged shooter George Zimmerman is unnecessary. The dead man was an angel and his assailant a racist murderer.

Case closed before it has even been opened.

Another CBC member, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., on Wednesday declared, "He was executed for WWB in a GC

Yes, I'm labeling the tar out of this because it starts with a label, ie if you disagree with me on this issue, you're a liberal. That's the implication and that's what it continues to be.

And yes, I've found that white people who claim to be conservative Christians are often the most racist and likely to be prejudiced against blacks and find reasons to defend situations such as this one. It's not as bad as it seems though, since none ever take any REAL action to support their beliefs. I don't see anyone here or anywhere else actively supporting Zimmerman, just a lot of talk. Won't even go online and start or sign a petition defending him, just come on message boards and say "yulp, he did the right thing."

NO_LIMIT_NIG** obviously was an innocent bystander. Zimmerman chased him down and shot him the back of the head.... all the while yelling racial "slurs". We all know the story you would like to paint of Zimmerman.

I personally don't have "white guilt" that requires me to see racism every time a "black" person is killed. Black on black crime in Chicago is rampant. A 6 year old innocent girl was killed last week in shootings. Have you signed any petitions to stop the violence in Chicago that's taking the lives of innocent children?

Wow, I guess you are an expert on the subject.  And how did you come to these findings?  Is your own prejudice involved?  Have you been a victim of prejudice?  Or do you believe everything you read?

I contend you have no idea what you are talking about. Racism can come from any group of people and be directed towards any group of people even their own "race"*. AND it's just as common as non-whites to be racist as it is for whites to be racist.

She probably has seen racism first hand. 

But, that doesn't mean anyone should pre-judge this case without facts.  Here's a prediction based on my experience:  If EITHER of those men were in my neighborhood on foot in the dark, there would be some 'splainin' to do.  We are a close-knit group of people who look out for each other.

I understand that. However, it seems that if people feel strongly enough about something to spend time analyzing and posting about it, logic says they would become involved in some way, shape, or form. Otherwise, why waste the time discussing it?

The race issue is one that is important to me because I've dealt with it in some way, shape, or form for my whole life. I can't have my kids and their friends walk out that door without worrying that the next George Zimmerman is out there and about a week ago, a white conservative Christian man put my daughter's safety in jeopardy because he saw two non-whites in a car and assumed they were stealing gas, so he took it on himself to follow them in his truck AFTER he called the police and not just follow them, tail them super close and when they wouldn't pull over for the crazy guy, he swerved in front of them and slammed on his brakes and blocked them from being able to drive, got out of his car, and started going off about stealing gas. These are two honor students who haven't had a day's trouble in their lives. They were scared. Their salvation? My daughter recognized the guy's voice and took her jacket off. (she had been huddled in fear in the corner with it over her head) and he said "oh, it's you." No apologies. When I called him, no apologies, just layers of changing reasons why. I didn't even bother trying to drag the truth out, it was obvious. And what are the kids supposed to do next time? My first thought would be call 9-1-1, but we just had a black kid who, by the reports, was shot in the back by police with witnesses saying he had his hands in the air giving himself up at the time. Is it true? Still waiting on the whole story on that one, but in the meantime, should I tell the kids to trust the police? The guy who stopped them is friends with the police. Would they have believed the white guy who is their friend or the "suspicious looking" teens?

You want me to be quiet and you think *I* am part of the problem because I'm willing to call this garbage what it is...RACIAL? No, I don't think so.  There's enough crime and danger in this world. Nobody should have to be in further danger than they already are just because of their skin tone. It sickens me. Maybe you don't deal with it in your world, but I do in mine and as a human it's an obscene mark on human nature, as a parent it's just plain frightening, as a conservative Christian, it's embarrassing since that's where I see it coming from the most. "Good Christian folk," the type who won't let my kids on their doorstep and who see me and see white and think they can confide in me about how horrible it is that our town is being destroyed by all these blacks and "Koreans" and other races. I had to gently let someone know last month that "those Korean kids" not only aren't Korean, (apparently out here, anyone that looks Asian is Korean) they're MY kids and not just random Koreans invading their white territory. UGH No apologies there either, even though I was very nice and tried to make a joke of it.

Nobody ever apologizes. They make excuses or change the subject when they find out "oh, I screwed up."

And on and on it goes.

And the next one gets profiled.

And the next one gets chased down and has a truck slammed in front of them in the middle of town on a public road.

And the next one gets shot.

And those of us who speak out become the bad guys for doing so. We're crazy for seeing anything racial in this. We're paranoid. We enjoy throwing out the race card. Excuse me, but I DREAM of the day when race isn't a concern! Nobody should have to live in fear just because of their race.

Sounds like all your bad experiences have made you prejudiced and bitter.  If I lived in a place like you describe, I would get out.  I have lived around conservative Christians all my life, many of them in law enforcement, and I have never seen them do anything like you describe.  Furthermore, unless you have the facts in the Zimmerman case, you do need to shut up.  Sorry, so does people on his side.  We have a justice system, not perfect, but if you try and bypass the rule of law and convict someone outside the legal process, and incite people to do them harm, then you have advocated lawlessness, which is against God's plan.  Like it or not, then take it up with God.  He established governments.  You are not anyone's judge.

The people described above were not true Christians.  Never were Christians.  There are still people like that, but y'all make it sound like you believe all white conservative Christians are like that, and that is prejudice talking imo.  What has happened to these kind of people in the following verses, since we are verse texting:

No, today we live in a narcissistic, get even society of victims that always have everyone else to blame.  Their God is so small that he can't get them past all the injustices in this world, and they have a root of bitterness that has sprung up and will be their ruin if not dealt with.
