Bwahahaha! 🤣

Giving Carter credit for Reaganomics.

“Carter served his country during a very difficult time, helped to move it past the Vietnam War and Watergate, began the work of economic recovery not fully felt until 1983 during the Reagan Administration
The national debt tripled in the eight years Reagan was in office. Reagan did nothing but ride the coattails of Carter for any success in the economy. The rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Trickle down economics is now a curse term in basic economics classes in colleges.

I think constructive criticism and evaluation of leadership is a legitimate venture, but as I've said often before, too frequently a president is given far more credit for the success, and failure of a country than should be.

Oh c’mon, Alayman…stop making so much sense. It’s just no fun! 😉

Yeah. Dems have been belching that subterfuge since the 80s.

K then. I guess the long and short of it is that you find mediocrity inspiring. You could have just said that.
You know what they say opinions are akin to….guess you weren’t interested in having a debate, just taking passing potshots. 🤷🏻‍♂️😬😉

To me I read this thread wrong. I read it as being about Carter as a man and his character - not his presidency or leadership style. But actually, it wasn't even about that. It was supposed to be about his faith
But
ended up being about his presidency.

Threads have a life of their own.

Whatever it was about, he's lead a long and respectable life free from scandal.

I was asked to explain what I find inspiring about President Carter. What the person really wanted was, not an opportunity to understand my thoughts, but rather an opportunity to excoriate my opinions. I then gave that same person an opportunity to have a formal debate on the subject, but so far he’s ignored that offer in favor of just taking little potshots here and there. 🤷🏻‍♂️
