It is NOT a sin for any woman to wear a pair of pants. What a crazy belief.

As was mentioned earlier, it is an internal issue. I'm not blaming the clothes themselves, they are just a tool. It's the choice. Kind of like the statement....guns don't kill people, people kill people.

So, are you saying it is not women who wear pants but pants who wear women?

I am saying, I am a woman, and I wear pants...and not all of the pants I wear are even women's pants.  When women's pants are sized by waist and inseam, I'll be happy to wear women's pants exclusively.  I try to buy misses long slacks, but I can't always find them in my size.  But I can usually find men's jeans in my waist/inseam.  And anybody who mistakes me for a man, even when I'm wearing men's jeans, needs new glasses.  ;)

Aha, so you're Bro Blue. And Al, loved the pants video.  You are such a hoot. Where do you find these things?

I beg to differ.  It's a sin for women to wear THESE pants...

And sometimes it's a sin for women NOT to wear pants.

Don't assume your brand of religion dying is somehow responsible for the hearts of mankind becoming more and more wicked. The Bible says that the end days will be like the days of Noah - and those days didn't have Independent Fundamental Baptist. No - they had people, individually, rejecting GOD and his moral code of conduct.

The heart and mind of mankind is wicked - and no IFB Church will change that. Only God can change one person at a time - and only if a person is willing. The days are dark, and even the ones who are saved struggle (this I know) .... but, God has a plan, he knows what is going on, and how dare we assume our flavor of Church is the answer.

Maybe if the IFB stopped being the arrogant ones and started loving more like Jesus we could see America change. Stop telling people to change based on your convictions, and let the Holy Spirit move them. Accept some change as good and not bad.

Seriously, we have a world full of condemned men and women and we sit around worrying about pants on women, CCM, Bible versions, length of hair, service consistency, proper end time doctrines, pot luck dinners, how bad the Church down the street is ... I can go on and on .... and we don't do a [expletive] thing really for the ones who need Jesus.

Really, do we need one more Sunday of feel good, I did my part, God loves me Christianity? Or, do we need to get on our knees, set aside the foolish crap, and pray for God to move among his people.

In other works - GET OUT OF THE WAY!

I have been a member of 8 very conservative IFB churches and have never heard anyone say it is a sin for a woman to wear pants. Apparently, there are plenty of you out there who have heard it.

I've been a member of two and they said it was.  There are plenty of people within the IFB Church who believe such things.

Have you ever heard of Fairhaven? Listen to one of his sermons and you'll hear it for the first time.

My daughter goes to Fairhaven for a year now. Goes to every church service.  She's home for a visit, so I asked her just now.  She said it is obvious looking around in a church service that the women do believe in wearing skirts to church.  But does not remember a single sermon about pants on women in the last year.  It may have happened, her memory is not perfect, but that is a far cry from what you are saying.

They have a dress code for the bus routes, and it does not mention wearing dresses to church.
Says something about fully covered, but I get the idea that can include long pants as well.
It just doesn't say dresses only is what I remember.

Perhaps you are speaking from past experience.  The fact that most of the women wear dresses probably means they teach that, so I am sure it is mentioned time and again.  Current experience there seems to be different than listen-to-any-sermon.to hear it.

Well, then there is only one way to find out! Tell her to wear pants next week on her bus route and see what happens.

Why bump these old, stupid threads?
Maybe we could bump a KJVO, door to door soulwinning, screens in the auditorium are sins thread(s).

Exactly.

The perfect way to find out just what they really believe.

You are too late with your suggestion.
Graduation is today and she will be home before next week.

I insisted on modesty as the standard, she chose her standard to be skirts only, so good luck on getting her to dip her standards for yours anyway, even for a day.

But there is still time to get in a good slander on them by claiming that *any sermon* will prove that they are against pants on women and by implication that they cannot be as right as our learned opinions.

Oh wait, that was done in the post I replied to.
No matter, do it again, they are IFBers after all, criticisms need not be entirely true.
