I think this article is right on. The X-Generation as I believe we are called have grown up knowing nothing but technology. We see how it can be effective in reaching people.
I use technology in a kids ministry and many people shy away from it. I simply ask them, "How else is the church suppose to compete with video games, movies, tv, ipads, ipods, and the other millions of gadgets out there?" Why not use those same gadgets in the church to teach the Bible.
I think many times we forgot what Paul said in I Corinthians:
And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some
I think Paul understood that there are many fish in the sea and you have to use different types of bait to catch them all.
I think one of the biggest challanges we face is the fact that pastors and churches are not willing/or uneasy to about change. Too many times we something different is brought to them the automatic response is to shut it down because we are so use to change being a bad thing. Change can be/is good in certain things. Yes keep your doctrine, Yes keep your standards, Yes keep your KJV Bible. But be like Paul and make the changes necessary to be more effective to those around you.
Just my two cents
