While I was a student at HAC there were always a few "high profile" students.  The "high profile" status may have come from a position held by the student before or while they were at HAC.  It may have been because of the family from which they came.  It may have been because of the church from which they came.  They just seem to stand out in one way or another.

So, Hacker Nation, who do you remember that would be classified as a "high profile" student?

*One name per post.  Remember, it's all about the numbers!

Keith Gomez

Gomez came from Louisiana.  He was actually on staff at the church from which he came.  There were several students from his church that were HAC students.  Gomez was a married student.  He was looked up to by the students from his church as well as many others.

He hung around Jack Patterson.  You always heard them before you saw them.  :)

Decoster brothers

I believe three of the brothers attended HAC.  If I remember correctly, Donny was the oldest.  There was also Peter.  I can't remember the third.  Of course their dad was a millionaire and the gymnasium bore his name.  Later the dining hall also bore his name.

Even if you didn't know them personally, you knew who they were.  They didn't quite fit the Hacker mold.  :)

Russel Anderson's daughters

Anderson's oldest daughter attended HAC when I was a student.  I can't remember her name.  I believe the second daughter came as a freshman when I was a senior.  Of course, I don't remember her name either.

They were blonde and dressed fancy.  I always thought the oldest daughter was a bit "snotty"  Of course, their dad's name is part of the college's name.

Dave Patrick

Dave was from Brother Roloff's home.  He had a deep bass voice and boy could he sing.  He was a quiet young man and very nice.  When Dave, Jack Patterson, and a couple of others sang in chapel the place came unglued.

Brother Roloff was greatly looked up to at HAC.  This is the reason Dave was in the "high profile" category.

Tommy Sue is the oldest.

Thanks!

We had a few PK's that may fit the bill.

Troy Blackwell was kinda high profile, and he went straight to staff after graduation.
He worked in the Servicemen's ministry, with Bob Hooker, and preached in a jail somewhere.
He would stand up in the service, and hold up his Bible, when he said "amen".  He was a former cop, and a Marine (no such thing as a former Marine), combat vet, a very lively personality, and capable drill instructor, which was how he preached...

Kelly & Lisa are the younger sisters.

Got a few stories about the youngest one. :)

Sterling Walsh was there for a year or possibly one semester.

Youngest Anderson-she was a wild one. I was in school with the Decosters-all three of them, I did not travel in their group.
