Hey Biker...How About Taking Down That Picture From Your Avatar?

In response to the wonder woman joke...

There's more than one kind of burqa. In Iran for example the traditional burqa (a bandari, scroll down to see it) is more revealing and quite medieval looking. The popular black burqua is probably a recent fashion. Muhammad would probably have seen and favoured something that looked like the bandari though not that style. Later during the Renaissance period burqas would have been white not black though they'd be exactly the same in style.

I would go for the black. Better for concealing weapons and identities.

If biker's avatar offends you, you're spending entirely too much time, examining a postage-stamp-sized picture too closely.

Don't understand this statement as his avatar is the same size as everyone else's on my computer and they are much bigger than a postage stamp.

You must be using a giant plasma display for a monitor.  Cool.

More thoughts...He's a half murderer, he's half thief..Half a drunk...Half Gossip..it doesn't work like that. Either we are or aren't. Half Naked is not identified as sin according to scripture but IT IS Sin according to the OP ..all while snide comments and public spectacles calling me out is Not sin. But calling my wife "indecent" and "half naked" which are not sins, but used as such, is ok. Conjured up worldly rules based on false assumptions result in false conclusions, period. And hurt.

Galatians 5 commands approaching the person in private with whatever issue besets you..

Even modest bathing suits don't cover 50% of the body, they cover LESS so you're half naked.  How to swim, jet ski, play volleyball, run etc.. with 50% of your body weighed down/ constrained? We spend a good amount of money on bike uniforms, bathing suits . Nothing shows/ jiggles that shouldn't. On her belly leaning up to give me a peck, well her front is covered. It's a side shot. My Where a man may look..my legs block. We are very modest.

I forgot I did that for fun when I cropped myself out of the picture. I distorted her face for fun, never used those tools before so she looks like a clown now- lol big lips and nose. Maybe I'll find a better pic of her that keeps anonymity, or put the old one back since it's not about the photo. We all know that. It this reminds me of the Hawaiian who posted a photo of herself in a bathing suit on the other FFF. Hater turned it into a debate thread..a public spectacle. Typical Hawaiian Photo, good looking girl/woman. They ripped her apart. Some went so far with hate they complained to the webmaster. It was never about the photo.

Now back to Burkas, the eyes with sinful mascara :o

I was thinking about that old incident even though I never saw the photo that Deep Six posted. Unlike that incident no woman here has said anything about your photo. We don't seem to have a lot of women posting on here. I think the poster known as JrChurch would most likely be offended by the photo (because she's a conservative IFB) but she hasn't posted on here in several months and I've never known her to be offended by anything like that - she's usually quiet.
Jr Church is generally pretty nice, meek maybe from what I recall of her on the Friendly Forum (a previous forum in existence).

Modesty is the exact opposite of boastfulness.  The desire to draw attention to one's self is common in our society and abounds at this forum.  According to some here if I posted an avatar of a man and woman wearing a g-string while kissing, the

Then either your monitor is the size of a picture window, or the avatar is [was?] so pixelated that it resembles a Mondrian canvas more than a beach scene

Either way, you're giving it an unhealthy amount of scrutiny. Perv.

Burqas are great! You can conceal an Uzi under one, off a few oppressors of women, and disappear into the crowd.  :-*

This is especially true if all women are required to wear burqas.  It only takes one or two steps to disappear into the crowd.

Neither is true nor is it the size of a postage stamp...not to sure why a request for modesty on a christian forum makes someone a perv in yor sight...maybe the problem is your eyesight and your your transferring your thoughts to others who don't have them...as in this case.

Maybe a quite personal pm would have handled this situation better rather than making a big stink about this and would have resolved this a little better than screaming foul.
Sometimes, I think, the "weaker brothers" seem to want to control others through their "weakness".
To be honest, I do find the picture a little too much, I wouldn't have posted it. I don't think I'm going to run out and start to have it be on the forefront of my mind, I have to decide what I am going to do with it. I cant put my weakness on Biker and expect him to bend to my wishes.

I do have a rather large monitor. A 24" LCD, 1920 x 1080. I actually have two, but need to rearrange my home office space before I have room for both of them. And I also need to make room for the 19" 1440 x 900 LCD for my Linux box.

It has nothing to do with "weaker brothers."  It has to do with what is considered appropriate for a Christian forum.  It seems nudity is no longer considered immodest according to some.

You don't have to be nude to be immodest.  Wearing pasties and a g-string might be legal but it isn't modesty.

she was wearing neither.

Got it, the new definition of nudity: if you're wearing clothes, but not wearing pasties and a g-string, that's nudity. ;)

Which means... I'm nude right now, and probably you are too!  :o
