Is a bikini proper attire for a christian woman?

No

Chapter and verse please.

Perhaps it is more personal conviction/preference. But - I believe this bodily temple shouldn't put on such a exposition of flesh. A bikini can cause a man to fall in a huge way. Sure, toes and beautiful eyes can also, but I would say on a different level than showing so much flesh. We are all growing and God wouldn't judge a young girl who doesn't see such beach wear is wrong - but, I believe a heart for God would desire to cover up ones beauty saved for her mate. She would see it as distasteful eventually.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

Romans 14:13
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

The only difference between this reasoning, and that which extreme Muslims use to make women wear burkhas, is a matter of degree.

How about a one piece or a mailott or whatever Bo Derek wore in the movie 10? What makes a bikini less appropriate than a swimsuit like that? Bo Derek became an icon in a one piece and even the suit itself is iconic. Today if you see even celebrities in bikinis it's like whatever. Kind of boring unless they are the really skimpy ones which makes it almost pointless to even wear anything - then it's just about the body in the suit and not the suit itself.

There are a couple of advantages to burkhas though:

1) It makes it easy to conceal weapons.

2) It makes you very hard to identify.

Considering the above, Saudi men should be very, very nervous.

3) They can keep you warm when you crash and are stuck in 6' of snow for weeks at a time.

4) You can use them as parachutes when you fall off of cliffs.

5) You can net fish with them when your plane crashes on some island.

6) You can use your old ones to make kites with your kids.

7) They make a handy towel.

8 ) You can walk around in nothing but a burka allowing one to feel the breeze on hot summer days...

I hear Al Qaeda is now supporting Casual Burqa Friday, where women can show a little more of the bridge of their nose.

I do think that many IFBx people would fit right in with Islamic traditions.

By the way, this is one of the weirdest threads ever.

Actually, according to this website, wearing too little or too much clothing means people are demon possessed so they might be opposed to burkas.

How about a personal message instead of calling him out publicly. Are you trying to prove something?
Not trying to prove anything ...it was publicly displayed so I publicly dealt with it...as I always do...simple enough.

I prefer........WONDER WOMAN:

"Does my crown make my hair look big?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burqa

There's more than one kind of burqa. In Iran for example the traditional burqa (a bandari, scroll down to see it) is more revealing and quite medieval looking. The popular black burqua is probably a recent fashion. Muhammad would probably have seen and favoured something that looked like the bandari though not that style. Later during the Renaissance period burqas would have been white not black though they'd be exactly the same in style.

More thoughts...He's a half murderer, he's half thief..Half a drunk...Half Gossip..it doesn't work like that. Either we are or aren't. Half Naked is not identified as sin according to scripture but IT IS Sin according to the OP ..all while snide comments and public spectacles calling me out is Not sin. But calling my wife "indecent" and "half naked" which are not sins, but used as such, is ok. Conjured up worldly rules based on false assumptions result in false conclusions, period. And hurt.

Galatians 5 commands approaching the person in private with whatever issue besets you..

Even modest bathing suits don't cover 50% of the body, they cover LESS so you're half naked.  How to swim, jet ski, play volleyball, run etc.. with 50% of your body weighed down/ constrained? We spend a good amount of money on bike uniforms, bathing suits . Nothing shows/ jiggles that shouldn't. On her belly leaning up to give me a peck, well her front is covered. It's a side shot. My Where a man may look..my legs block. We are very modest.

I forgot I did that for fun when I cropped myself out of the picture. I distorted her face for fun, never used those tools before so she looks like a clown now- lol big lips and nose. Maybe I'll find a better pic of her that keeps anonymity, or put the old one back since it's not about the photo. We all know that. It this reminds me of the Hawaiian who posted a photo of herself in a bathing suit on the other FFF. Hater turned it into a debate thread..a public spectacle. Typical Hawaiian Photo, good looking girl/woman. They ripped her apart. Some went so far with hate they complained to the webmaster. It was never about the photo.

Now back to Burkas, the eyes with sinful mascara :o

I was thinking about that old incident even though I never saw the photo that Deep Six posted. Unlike that incident no woman here has said anything about your photo. We don't seem to have a lot of women posting on here. I think the poster known as JrChurch would most likely be offended by the photo (because she's a conservative IFB) but she hasn't posted on here in several months and I've never known her to be offended by anything like that - she's usually quiet.
