Is that FSSL and Ransom?
FSSL or Ransom?
I gave up drinking last summer for health reasons and the fact I wasn't as in control of it as I once fancied myself. When took Mrs. Abcaines out for a fancy dinner for Valentines day last month. We were asked if we wanted to see a wine list, I asked if they had non-alcoholic wines. They said they had a non-alcoholic merlot. Neither the Mrs nor I are big fans of wine but we did like merlot. We decided to try it and it was DELICIOUS! Better than the regular stuff. Regular wine has that slight alcohol burn but not this stuff. It paired well with what we were eating (especially the chocolate truffles after dinner) and best of all, there was no question about my ability to drive afterwards.FSSL or Ransom?
In my youth I sampled plenty beer/wine/liquor and come from a family of notorious alcoholics so I won’t begin to roll those dice, though I don’t believe the Scriptures present a tee-totaler position. When I did drink beer, craft or otherwise, I thought it all tasted like crap IMNSHO. Liquor held no sway over me, nor did the vast majority of wines I sampled except I did like the sparkling wine Asti Spumante.I gave up drinking last summer for health reasons and the fact I wasn't as in control of it as I once fancied myself. Absolutely. I believe a person's decision whether to partake or not needs to be of their own decision, not someone else's opinion or badgering. Especially during my IFB days, if I abstained, I did so out of a sense of shame or duty. Yet, i still longed for the freedom to partake. But when I admitted I wasn't in control of myself anymore, my desire to partake vanished immediately. Not to say my experience is normative... it's just the path I took.In my youth I sampled plenty beer/wine/liquor and come from a family of notorious alcoholics so I won’t begin to roll those dice, though I don’t believe the Scriptures present a tee-totaler position.
