What do you think about P90x?

I need to bring up my pull-ups, and increase my 3-mile, but my wife would really like to start a workout plan with me and she'd like to do that with me.  I think if I started this with her, it would get me in better shape and probably help my number of pullups, but not help as much bringing my 3-mile time down.  The pullups/running time is more important to me than just exercising to get more fit.

Thoughts/advice?

P90x is fine if you want to dish out that much money for an endurance type workout. Plus, it all depends on what your goals are. If you are looking to increase muscle mass, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you are looking to lose body fat then, yes.  The bottom line to me is that you find something you like and stick with the program AND keep in mind that nutrition is key.

I did a mostly raw diet for a month years ago when my sister was pretty ill with her cancer.  I felt great!  Got down to 110 lbs.  My husband starts a 6mo weightloss challenge on Thursday, and I intend to do it with him.  It'll be interesting to see what I lose too.

My health nut sister-in-law keeps telling me it's vital that I get the right kinds of oils in my diet. Would I be ok with 10W30 or should I try something different?

Also, is there a particular brand you recommend? I normally go with Castrol GTX but I'll willing to pay a little more.

One more thing: do you recommend standard stuff or the synthetic stuff? I hear the synthetic stuff is "slipperier" so I figure it might help keep things regular.

Up to you.  Just be SURE that my full name is on your life insurance.

Ah yes, the benefits of coconut oil are many. I started using it daily in my breakfast drink, which consists of boiling water being mixed with 90% high quality european dark chocolate and a few tablespoons of virgin coconut oil. I have observed a great improvement in my thinking and ability to express my thoughts as a result.

The eczema on my hands has also vanished; however I did start with a topical application of the coconut oil at first until it vanished. For the past 12 or so years the eczema had plagued my hands, causing them to have dozens of cuts which would bleed due to the severe dryness. Therefore I am quite pleased that I no longer have it.

Coconut oil can be expensive, so for those unable to afford it they can simply just consume coconuts, as there is little difference, since a coconut basically has zero carbohydrates and protein. The only main difference with eating the coconut is you are consuming the oil with a lot of fiber.

In reference to the video, that refers to ketones as fuel for the brain by means of consuming the coconut oil; this also can be achieved by fasting, or by consuming a low carbohydrate diet. When on a low carbohydrate diet, it may take the body a while to do so, but eventually it will. This is for instance how cultures that lived on mostly all meat diets were able to provide fuel for their brains. (certain african tribes, eskimos, etc.) There is also many studies on the benefit of low carb diets for the mind, especially in the case of a person who has seizures.

There isn't much research on it yet. Still, very interesting.

If I run from the lazy boy to the couch will that help?
